The fact that none of Batman, Superman, or Spider-Man are on the list but the captain from Serenity and two characters from Anchorman are is a real head-scratcher.

That's why the entire concept of a "best of" list is ridiculous in the 1st place. It's "best of" according to Empire website viewers. While still not a good idea, AFI's lists are a bit more respectable.

i agree. i just thought it was worth mentioning that empire had no control over the list. we know the type of people that voted in this list, and we shouldn't be surprised by the result.

even then, there was what, 4 star wars characters? 5, even? come on!
these lists should really be called "favourite" movies or what have you. makes things a bit easier.
