I'll say!
You said you allowed yourself to get fat, very fat, what was your heaviest weight, and what gave you the will to lose it?
My heaviest weight was a hefty 23 stones, which believe me is heavy! I'm 6 foot and have a large frame, but yeah, I looked absolutely disgraceful.
To be honest, I orignally involuntarily went on 'The Heartbreak Diet' which consisted of me going on a bender for about 4 months & hardly eating. It was a vicious circle as I'd get out of bed, not knowing what day it was, and feeling completely weak & empty through lack of food. I'd think to myself "Jeez, I gotta eat or I'm gonna die" - then I'd catch myself in the mirror and think "Whoah, I'm looking much better than I'm feeling!". I literally got down to about 18 stones during this process, and then, when I regained my faculties, just started training twice a week & not eating between meals. I'm 15 stones now, which is high as far as my BMI goes, but if you saw me, you'd think it was about right.
How would you encourage others who want to lose weight, and what tips would you offer them?
As you can see from my previous story, I'm hardly an ambassador for healthy weight loss, as I literally woke up from a drunken depressive haze 4 stones lighter. The advice I'd probably give is that a small amount of weight loss is better than no weight loss at all, and if you steadily lose, slowly but surely you will get to where you wanna be, don't expect miracles.
You seem like a cool guy, and have given good and entertaining answers, why aren't more people asking you questions in here?
I thought that myself, no love for ole Jay I assume, never mind, I'll use this experience to help me lose another half stone maybe
