When did you join the Hype?

October of 2003, but I had lurked around Spider-Man Hype for several years.

What’s your favorite forum?

The one I'm most active in are the RPG boards, so I'd probably go with that one. Though I do fancy the boards of my namesake, for the simple comradeship.

What brought you here?

The realization that I had nothing better to do with my time than argue about the textures of Christian Bale's Batsuit.

What made you stay?

The realization that I had nothing better to do with my time than pretend to ignore the fact that I once argued about the textures of Christian Bale's Batsuit.

Who is your Hype Nemesis?

Mister J. :cmad: He represents everything I stand against. The devil preaches chaos over order. Crime over justice. Madness over sanity. Jolly manics over emo-brooding. It's sickening.

Fave smiley(s):

:facepalm::batman::brucebat::hoboj::2face:

What is your current avatar? (post a pic of it if you want)

Funny story about the one I'm wearing. A friend of mine on the boards, Byrd Man, put up an avatar of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of The Moon" cover merged with a pink-colored Floyd from The Andy Griffith Show.

It became sort of a running gag among the rest of us RPG guys, with Andy C. sporting "Pink Frued". So I decided to do my own version, and combined my love of Dumb And Dumber with my less than articulate Photoshop skills!

It'll be the first and last time I ever wear an avatar that isn't of my dear Dark Knight Detective.

What is your Hype Pet Peeve?

When people dismiss others' casting choices for a certain role, only to suggest someone far worse for the role themselves. Everyone's got their preferences, you know? Let them be.

Many laughs and many embarrassments have come from one of my favorite threads, here...

The RPG Boards' Random Chat Log Thread

How old are you?

19, about to turn 20 in June.

Where were you born?

Louisville, Kentucky. I've since lived my life in my own Gotham City, which is called "Seymour, Indiana" for convenience.

What’s your job?

My job currently consists of looking for a current job. I'm at a period in my life where I'm looking to venture out on my own, so with that ludicrous idea in mind, I'm needing a way to pay the bills.

What kind of vehicle do you drive?

A white '98 Toyota Camry. Ugly car. More ugly on this car than a Rolling Stones' group photo.

Dream car?

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/3163/batmobile.jpg

Or any variation of that.

What is your greatest regret?

Enrolling in homeschooling at an early age (12 years old, 6th grade). Not a fun way to carry out my teen years. I wouldn't recommend it.

What is your greatest achievement?

Sadly enough, acquiring this username.

High school mascot?

The Seymour Owl. A huge purple owl with basketball shorts.

Yeah.

How do you like your steak?

Medium well. Don't mind if there's a little pink in the center.

What’s a bad habit of yours?

I tend to get angry very easily, so I've been trying to teach myself more self control over that.

Favorite Place to Eat?

Depends on the day. I like to get takeout alot, so I end up either going to a local Mexican restaurant or Applebee's.

How many tattoos do you have?

None, and I intend to keep it that way. It's not really my thing.

If you could live in any fictional universe, what would it be, and why?

The Star Wars universe, because any universe ruled by a black-caped James Earl Jones with an iron fist is a universe that I want to live in.

If you could be present for any historical event, what? Why?

The American Civil War, just so I could see how much worse our country was back in the day, compared to now.

Name three people, living or dead, you would want to have dinner with?

JJ Abrams, because I love his work.
Stephen King, because I love his work.
and Joel Schumacher, so I could ask what the hell he was thinking.

What was the last film you saw at the cinema?

The Dark Knight. Admittedly, I'm not much of a theater guy. I tend to wait until the DVD release.

What is your favorite TV show?

Seinfeld is probably the one non-comic book oriented show I could classify as my definite favorite.

What is your best childhood memory?

Probably any time I was living in my former apartment, simply because I had lots of friends that lived around me. Good times came out of those years.

An embarrassing moment?

Probably when I discovered the dreaded... *ONLINE PORNOGRAPHY!*

Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?

Border's book store. I love to read, and I could probably buy every single graphic novel they have in stock.

What is the last cd/mp3 you acquired?

I just recently downloaded half of Linkin Park - Meteora, aswell as Black Sabbath's "Iron Man".

Show us a sample of your handwriting?

Yay! A chance to use my new scanner...

Are you the real Batman? / Joker

I'm the real Master Bruce. I'm not sure if that quite answers your question, though.

List 5 Things you want to do before you kick the bucket

Get married
Have a kid (Boy or girl, doesn't matter)
Travel the country and see every major city
Work for DC Comics in some capacity
Work up the nerve to leave The Hype :o

Coke or Pepsi?

Pepsi all the way, baby.

Do you want to see Nolan's Batman end at 3 or do you want to see more films of his Batman series?

I'd say end it at 3. Personally, I'd rather have three really good Batman films than see him decline in quality after getting burned out on doing so many.

Why do you hate me?
Why do you hate puppies?
Why did you skip my questions?
How do you like your cat meat cooked?

Barring Ultimate DC, which has your favorite RPG been to take part in?

World of Heroes, for reasons you already know.

Who is your favorite Hypester to interact with in the RPGs?

Aside from you and Byrd, obviously, it'd have to be Keyser Soze. The man demands excellence from everyone lucky enough to write alongside him.

Who is your least favorite to interact with in the RPGs?

Haven't really had a bad interaction experience yet, but I'd hate to interact with someone like Rizpower.

Which character that you've played do you think you've played the best?

Ultimate Batman, I think, for the amount of hours I've put into developing him.

Which character that you've played do you think you've played the worst?

I had a short stint as Bullseye, in One Universe. Talk about not knowing what to do there. :csad:

Which character that you've played has been your favorite?

Spider-Man is a blast to play. Nightwing, too, for the same reasoning of the character being a less serious, yet still-driven hero.

And your least favorite?

I tried to play Venom once, and it was just... eh. I'd rather not repeat that same mistake.

Who's your favorite Batman?

Kevin Conroy. There's no other Batman that's had quite the same effect on me, simply because I always hear his voice when I read the comics or write the character in my head.

Universal Monsters or Hammer Films? None or both?

Universal Monsters. I'm big on Creature From The Black Lagoon.

What Batmobile is your favorite?

I like most of them for different reasons, but if I had to pick one, I'd choose the 1989 Burtonmobile. That car was just cool as all hell to me.

What are the last five DVD's you bought?

JJ Abrams' Star Trek, The Shadow, Futrama Season One, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, and, I believe, The Prestige.

Which videogames are your favorites?

I'm constantly revisiting Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Left 4 Dead.

How many times did you see 'The Dark Knight' in theaters?

Only twice, but largely because I was broke at the time. I don't have that kind of restraint. :csad:

Are you excited that Christopher Nolan has officially confirmed 'Batman 3'?

Definitely. I want to see his mark on the character become the first real trilogy of the series. The character deserves that much.

Who would you like to see as the villain or villains?

I'd love to see them pull off a great version of Catwoman. She can be a great character whenever she's handled correctly. The Riddler is everyone's main choice, and I like him, too.

What actors would you like to play said villain or villains?

Charlize Theron or Sienna Miller would both make great Feline Fatales, IMO. Rachel Weiz also came up at one time, and I could have seen it.

David Tennant or Guy Pearce would make an excellent Riddler.

If you were directing a Batman movie, what would be the story and the cast?

If I had to take the reigns after Nolan, I'd go with the quasi-reboot approach and make it a loose adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. Except that instead of a much older Batman, I'd have it be a mid-40's Bruce Wayne, who's given up the fight and needs to rejoin it in order to combat evil once again. He'd have to recruit his allies once more and convince Gotham City that he's worthy of their respect, if not their trust, to work outside the law once again and take down the likes of The Joker, Two-Face, and such. But even so, it'd be much more about the psychological struggle of Bruce reclaiming the cowl than an outright return to action.

The history of the character would be the focus to draw upon, including the recent continuity, before RIP. So Hush, No Man's Land, Long Halloween, and other stories would be referenced.

I'd cast either Hugh Jackman or Eric Bana as Bruce Wayne, with Jake Gyllenhaal as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, and Paul Betanny as The Joker, who'd need to be the villain of the piece to properly bring Batman out of retirement.

Have you ever been skiing?

Nope. Not enough snow in Indiana, I'm afraid.

Have you ever been snowboarding?

No, but I'd love to learn.

Have you ever been tubing?

Once, but it was awhile ago. Wouldn't mind going again.

Have you ever gone camping?

I went for a weekend a couple of years back, and it may have been the best weekend of my life.

Have you ever gone hiking?

I have. My leg muscles still suffer because of it.

Have you ever gone caving?

Not specifically that, but I've visited public caves and went on tours before.

I'm sure you hoped that I would say I've been "spelunking". :oldrazz:

Have you ever gone rock climbing?

Have not, and I'm sure I'm enough of a chicken to not ever do it.

Have you ever gone parasailing?

Nope.

Would you ever skydive?

Not in a million years.

Would you ever bungee jump?

That, I could see doing, but only if I was convinced incredibly well.

I'd say end it at 3. Personally, I'd rather have three really good Batman films than see him decline in quality after getting burned out on doing so many.

great answers :up::up:

Are you going to answer questions before we reach page 2?

Didn't plan on it.

Why do you hate me?

Between your terrible body odor and your pompousness, I'm not sure.

Why did you skip my questions?

Subconscious need to strike at your nerves, I think. :o

How do you like your cat meat cooked?

Grilled. Nice and tender.

Why do you hate puppies?

They don't taste quite as good as cats.

If you could only save myself or Byrd Man from a giant Pteryadactyl, which of us dies a horrible death?

First movie that made you cry?

Most powerful death scene in comics?

Most powerful death scene in a TV show?

Most powerful death scene in a movie?

What are your thoughts on Morrison's Batman run (excluding Final Crisis)?

Why did we never finish Hype High?

Who is vengeance? Who is the night?

If you could only save myself or Byrd Man from a giant Pteryadactyl, which of us dies a horrible death?

I'd say that dying by way of becoming Pterodactyl food is an awesome way to die, so I'd have to pick Byrd.

First movie that made you cry?

Batman & Robin. :o

No, but seriously, The Lion King is probably my answer, because that was the first time I had seen a real death in animation. It took me by complete surprise. (Plus, I was 5 when it came out, so I cried alot anyway)

Most powerful death scene in comics?

Superman's, for that scene he had with Lois just before he collided with Doomsday. I'd say a close second is Kyle Rayner's recent "death" in Green Lantern Corps.

Most powerful death scene in a TV show?

Cordelia's death in Angel. That may be the most depressing moment of television. :csad:

Most powerful death scene in a movie?

Can't think of many right now, but the first that comes to mind is Clint Eastwood's at the end of Gran Torino.

What are your thoughts on Morrison's Batman run (excluding Final Crisis)?

I hated it, at first. And I think unless you really read it closely, it was a justified reaction. He just went off the wall with a character that had been portrayed as gritty and noir as possible for a number of years beforehand.

But I've come to appreciate it for what it is, as time goes on. I even daresay it's one of the more impressive runs on the character's book in some time. Behind it's craziness, there's a deep connection to Batman's past stories, going way back.

Why did we never finish Hype High?

You couldn't think of a death scene for me that was humiliating enough.

Who is vengeance? Who is the night?

DAFOE

Why didn't you stop Joker from capturing me?
