I'm sad to say seeing the second shot of the Joker made me realize how little we appreciate things until they're gone. I have to admit I was one of the few who really did not like the first official reveal of Joker. I had slowly begun to warm up to it but still wasn't too fond of it when the second shot was revealed. Now I absolutely love the look of the first shot. I'm not whining or *****ing but I'd just like to know if anybody feels the same way as me.....or not.

I'm not sure it has gone, the difference is solely down to makeup. People that have seen Heath on set say its closer to the grotesque first one, so possibly it gets more horrible as he becomes more demented

I have two problems with the second picture. His lips are nowhere near as red as they should be IMO and his hair is showing way too much brown. I think they should have died Ledgers hair black and then put in the green highlights.

Just as an aside, has anyone noticed how simialr the first official images from the film for Batman Begins

Well, you needn't worry. The second is...

Yes, considerably.

Look at my avatar though, pretty high contrast. Could be the lighting but his hair and lips are pretty dark there

Edit: Gah, time travel

Hehe. I use many quotes from both recent & older movies in my posts :cwink:

Anyway, I like the first a bit better because the lips are redder, but I like the second as well. As far as the actual makeup applied, I'm sure it's pretty much the same in both shots, I just happen to prefer the lighting on the first.

The 2nd is better.

There's no question who that is in the second pic, even if you didn't know it was a Batman movie.

The first could be any cross-dressing serial killer from any slasher movie.

The colors also depend on post-production, filters, etc. Most films nowadays look darker and with more contrast than when filmed. So the red might look darker on the actual film.

It's practically the same really, the different color and skin texture is probably all down to the harsh lighting. Lipstick is a little neater though in the 2nd

I just don't like the look in any way, but the second picture is better for including some Jokery elements in the form of green hair and a purple jacket.

I strongly disagree. While it looks more like the Joker than the 1st picture, it still doesn't scream comic book Joker to me. I tried it out with my sisters. I showed them pictures of comic book incarnations of the Joker and then the second picture and both of them said Heath's version really looked very little like the comic book incarnation.

Yeah, TDK will be a remake of BB. It's that simple, it's evil dead: dead by dawn again! :o I hope Maggie won't be raped by a tree :o

Would you like it if it wasn't the Joker? The look detached from him

"You can't always get what you want"

maybe the first pic is after he transforms and turns into the joker albeit after the chemical changer or whatever, cuz the skin in that one looks really white, like albino

it took me about three days to do a 180 turn and realise why the first shot (and the design in general) is so great. the second just drove it home. I already knew he'd have green hair and wear purple

I think the second picture is a strong image. I wouldn't really know what to make of the first one. The face seems to belong to a victim of something. It is ugly, but more pathetic than threatening.

IDK about you guys, but the first one scares me a hell of a lot more than the second one.

Hmm, I think that's down to Heath's blunt face and expression more than the look. Just wondering if people without a clear idea of the Joker would think it was decent on its own terms. I think the general public would recognise it instantly as him, even if a little confused when comparing with Jack
