Just Got an Elite for christmas for ($350.00 no less). I'm scared of RROD I had to send my lil cousins xbox back a couple a months ago for him, I dont want to deal with it ever for my shiny new elite. Do all elites have the Falcon chipset. I looked on the tag on the box and it didn't say 175w it said 203w or 208w. Question #2. my modem and wireless router is in the basement of my house so I bought the wireless adapter for my room upstairs. does the wireless adapter have good range and a strong connection. I havent hooked it up yet but want to know in case i should return it. Got GOw ,Mass Effect, FEAR. COD4. Thinking about getting PGR is it anygood? Well I guess thats 3 questions

Ok I did more digging and found my answer. this was posted by another xbox owner.

I bought an Elite from Argos on Thursday and it's a Falcon

Lot:0741 Team:FDOU made October 07. 175w PSU.

So Elite's are now falcons, or some are in UK anyway.

Hope this helps

apparently some xboxes with the 175w power supply are being boxed with 203w stickers. I also learned how to tell by looking through the bottom of the xbox. if anyone else has the same questions look here

Not all elites are coming with the Falcon chipsets yet. If you do get the RROD it isn't a big deal. You send back the console and usually get it back within 5 days or so.

HAH! Thats a BEST cast scenario,on avg, its more like 2 weeks.

As your Elite is concerned, i think, as long as you dont keep it in an enclosed area with other heat emitting electronics youll be fine. MS updated the consoles after last summer, so every console from then on was less prone to the Red Rings.

And good choice in games btw. All of em are pretty damn good.

I've had to do it twice and neither time has it taken more then 5 days.

I was kind of concerned about the Falcon chip as well because I heard that all the Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox360s had the chip but I looked at the tag and it said 203w.

It's basically the same thing. Only some of the Halo 3 editions actually have the Falcon chip. There are certain carton numbers to look for. I don't remember the numbers but the boxes with those carton numbers all have the 175w power supply listed as well.

I had to send it in once, took 8 days total. Really nothing. If people can't stand that short period of time away from a game console, then they have bigger problems than worrying about a faulty 360.
