The Heat are not as good as the Spurs or the Suns, so again, we'll see what happens in this series.

The Suns more than likely would've ran the Heat to death. The Heat had no one that could stop Nash, Barbosa, Diaw, or Marion for that matter.

But yes, Shaq would've killed them on the inside since they didn't have Amare to contend with him.

But other than that piece of the puzzle? Suns would've destroyed the Heat by running them to the point of death.

What's surprising me is the lack of coverage for this finals though. You'd think ESPN and other sport outlets would be talking about this series, especially since it's the first for both franchises.

Perhaps you're right, but we'll never know now.

I think this will be a great series between the Mavs/Heat though. I say it'll go 5-6 games with the Mavs coming out on top.

However, if the Heat do in fact win the championship, I expect Shaq to go back to ragging on Kobe and hating him in an instant too.

It surprises me that there is little TV coverage as well. Especially with the biggest name in basketball (SHAQ-DADDY, THE BIG ARISTOLE) playing for his fourth title in his sixth series. I'm guessing once it's gets underway, then all the hype and coverage will begin. And about that prediction.
Dallas fans have to know that experience counts. All of those trades/acquisitions were made to have the best team in the NBA Finals. The "Supporting Cast" are about to earn themselves an NBA oscar for Best Finals Performance.

The Pistons(Of this year) had no experience and faced a VERY experienced Laker team in the finals, and ended up winning the championship.

It all comes down to depth and who wants it more. My opinion? I feel Dallas has the deeper bench, is more hungrier, and will win this series in about 6 or 7 games.

Walker, Williams, and etc, have never been to a championship so again they have no experience. Only one on the Heat with any championship experiences is Shaq and Payton(When Seattle played against Chicago for the championship and his stint with the Lakers).

So again, that whole "experience" ideal is completely useless. Neither team really has a lot of experience, save for Shaq who has three championship rings.

In the end we'll see what happens.

Dirk is going to have to play better. He is playing like he's intimidated by Shaq after that elbow, a fire needs to be lit and if he plays great, then the Mavs win and right now they're struggling with the Heat.

Wade started out hot and that was very poor defense on the Mavs part.

This series is going to be a long tough physical battle. In the end the question will be who wants it more? I believe the Mavs will still win the series, but they need to play smarter and not be afraid of Shaq or the Heat.

Great game by both teams. It was a tough struggle for the Mavs and I'm glad they pulled it off tonight.

I was biting my nails and on the edge of my seat watching this game. I'm humbled now and I see why so many people are saying Heat over the Mavs, because they match-up well and they managed to keep it close.

This is the game the Heat wanted and I'm glad they didn't get it. Either way Dirk needs to play better in order for Dallas to win.

Game 1 is down, onto Game 2 and hopefully all the way for a championship.

Bottom line, it comes down to depth. Dallas has it Miami doesn't. Dallas in 5 or 6.

This was the Heat's best chance to steal a game with Dirk having somewhat of an off night, but they (mostly Antoine. Go figure) chucked it when they shouldn't have, the turnovers killed them again, and the 2 biggest stats of the night: Miami's bench was outscored 24-2 by the Mavs bench, and of course the other killer was them shooting 7-19 from the line. They need to win on Sunday and take atleast 2 out of 3 at home if they're going to have any chance at winning the series.

What a game!!!!! Jason "The Jet" Terry with 32 points, though when he missed that lay up, I almost fell over. Gotta give to the Heat, especially in the first quarter, they were dominating. But my Mavs pulled through even when Dirk and Howard wasn't all there in the feild goals. Great game, can't till Sunday. You know this game is nothing compared to whats to come.

How in the hell does Walker take more shots than Shaq? And what was up with the free throws? Heat have to take game 2. ThE 1ST HALF (up 3 mintues to go) was perfect. We need 2 feed Shaq in the 1st half and some the 3rd, then let wade take over. The Heat can still win this, just need to stick with what got us there.
