Erzy baby, think about what the term 'It Boy' means, it means 'THE GUY' of the forum, according to the OP. Now, i have had one nom myself in the category, and we all know that i qualify, and Alexei also qualifies, just look at the amount of people talking about him, whether it is positive or negative, the guy most certainly has made an impact on the forum.
It's not a pity vote, I wanted some karma too, sure, but i would not have voted for him if he didn't qualify for the term.

You don't have be in the top 3 to still get a vote. Last time I checked there's a write in vote.

Also, my 2007 It Boy Trophy is gathering dust on my mantle.

No, this is me (as usual) doing my best to remind people that posters like you & all your buddies that have treated me so gallantly, are what ruins the online debate experience. People that don't have an ounce of respect in their bodies & use situations like message boards to embrace their own personal rage & sadism. There isn't a doubt in my mind that there is no arena for you other than this one where you can behave the way you do without any real consequence. But keep up the good work, kingmatte, keep making the Hype a cold & nasty place where people can continue to be flamed into submission, or in my case - stoned for disliking the direction Feige has taken with the post-Iron Man MCU films.

I mean, I've left forums before because I didn't quite fit, they were too strict or people where too bias.

On this forum, there is a level of tongue in cheek ribbing, and an allowance for sarcasm and jokes that I appreciate. I spend most of my time on the Superman boards and find the majority of people fun and interesting.

But if you find the place to be cold and nasty, full of rage and sadism and think you are 'stoned' for your opinions... Why on earth are you still here?

Discussion of the negative aspects of something are fine... it's when a poster is persistently negative about everything to do with it that people start to not respect their posts anymore. Because it becomes more about your character and what people are expecting, than the point of what your actually saying.

But, seriously speaking, there are a handful of people that make me stick around here, they are more than worth the hassle of the people who try to give me hassle on a daily basis.
but aye, sometimes i feel like i am being stalked by folk round here, but that's ok, if it gets to be too much, or i just seriously do not like someone with good reason, they go on the ignore list.

Really long, lots of them hate being on my ignore list, so will follow my posts around hoping i'll take em off to see what they have said in reply.
But, y'know, sometimes you can measure a person's good luck by the amount of people who will go out of their way to try and disrupt that. They just can't handle who I am and what I do, money can't buy what I have.

The problem with "people" in the Avengers forum, at least those that can't get enough of me, is that even the smallest form of criticism directed at Marvel Studios is enough for them to draw their guns.

You don't have to be persistently negative to get their attention. I've seen posters come into that forum after me with a less passionate approach that still get flamed for saying the Marvel Studios flicks aren't all they can be.

Thing is, people like kingmatte, Parker Wayne, etc, are fueled by their time here. They're given loud voices in this board because they've been around so long - even the mods are inclined to think twice about disciplining them.

I got a probationary ban for being "too negative" in the Avengers forum. Seriously. I mean, in the other boards I frequent you'd have to ban 90% of your posters if that were a valid offense. Message boards are designed for debate, not for worship. A bunch of guys posting PATRIOTS RULE!!! is fun for a few posts, but not for entire threads.

kingmatte's agenda is primarily to come in & worship. Anyone gets in his way, they get what I get - enormous written abuse.

What I'll never understand is how posters like him can be so viciously defensive over something that has no real stake in their lives. You won't see me flaming people in the other boards I frequent because every 20 posts or so someone badmouths The Bears.

I mean, why take it so personal? You think they suck? Fine, but they're still my team & I don't need to flame you to defend them.

Then again, most guys in my sports forums are older & arguably wiser

My agenda is pretty boring, actually. I just like to come here and talk about movies. And if you ever paid attention to a post that didn't have your name in it, you'd see that I've been quite critical of Marvel Studios in the past. I've had TONS of civil discussions on this site over the years, even with people I disagreed vehemently with (Mercurious), and to this day you are the one and only person that I have ever dealt with who simply can't speak to another person without talking down to them.

You are a troll. I know this is the point where you hit the Quote button and cry about being labeled, but it's true. Since you like to talk about football, I'll use it as an example. If you're a Packers fan and you go into a Bears forum spouting off about the Bear's management and the team and you tell people that they haven't had a good team since the 80's, you're playing with fire, but you're not a troll. When you do it again and again and again, derailing the entire thread with the same arguments for months on end, you are a troll. You know what you're doing and you do it anyway.

BTW, your ban was justified. You were warned to stop your talking down to people. You weren't warned for having an opinion. Your response was to pick a fight with a mod. I'm surprised you're still here, honestly. If the mods are being lenient to anyone, it's you.

Voicing my dislike for the efforts of today's Marvel Studios in an Avengers movie thread is not talking down to people. If I were to go, let's say, into the Captain America forum & start running my mouth about how much I disliked it, then you'd be right to label me a troll. But see, The Avengers is a combined culmination of this particular studio's efforts. Its all been leading up to it so I am within my right as a fan to have concerns & to voice my problems with previous MCU films. I told Danoyse pretty much what I'm telling you which is that it makes no sense for an Avengers News & Speculation thread to be treated like an Avengers Support thread. I know that's what you want it to be, kingmatte, but its not. But by all means keep championing your erroneous code of conduct with me.

Marx, Dragonator actually invited me (through PM) to come here & get flamed. So yeah, I think my colleagues from the Avengers forum don't really understand the intended purpose for this thread. But again, its nice to see them all together here at full force. These guys aren't usually worried about infractions for flaming, but even so, I guess they saw this as the very definition of safe haven.
