DC Television V for Vendetta Series | HBO

Only if they keep the anarchist element this time. The film is the best of the adaptations from Moore, but my only problem with that is that they changed V into a freedom fighter instead of just a straight up anarchist. The whole point is it re contextualizes the idea of anarchy.

My biggest fear is that it would be diluted in some way. I'm a huge admirer or Moore's work and I like the V for Vendetta movie but I'm not sure how this would play out over a TV series.

So, let me get this straight. Somebody read Jerusalem and didnt like it (i loved it, btw), but did not have the nerve to send a professional killer to off Alan Moore. So they decided to adapt V for Velevision, therefore trying to get him a heart attack and kill him thus.

Did i get this right?

Cunning plan.

And if he's still hanging on offer him a Stan Lee-type cameo. That should do it :sly:

I would be interested in watching it but I can see it inspiring some creepy real world problems.

I wonder who they will get for V? They will have to get someone with a cool voice

Hopefully this has the quality of channel 4 show like Utopia

Anybody heard anything Moore more about this? Rereading the graphic novel atm.

Did… did I manifest?

Finishing reading V For Vendetta and 1) living within a system of government that’s about five minutes from making the story a reality, and 2) really thinking it would make for a killer limited series on HBO, despite knowing that that would only make Alan Moore mad

Thought the showrunner’s name was Peter Jackson for a sec, and got really excited.

Still really looking forward to this if it comes to fruition.

As much as I lament that this will only piss Alan Moore off even more, I really do think the comic is perfect for a longer form story than just a 1.5/2 hour movie.

Casting and choice of director will be key, though.

The Pete Jackson that’s writing this just wrote a series starring Matt Smith.

Seems to me he’s got a good voice for V.

I'm absolutely game for a more comic accurate adaptation. But yes, it all comes down to the director. Also, I pray it doesn't have the typical series 'grey' look that's cursed so many streaming shows/movies. I want it to feel more distinctly British like the original comic too. The film (which I think is the strongest adaptation of Moore's works) felt very much influenced by post-9/11 America.

Hugo Weaving's performance is utterly iconic. It's going to be hard to top that one.
