2014 Emmy Nominees.

FX gets all sorta of love for Louis, AHS and I think Rescue Me, Nip Tick and Damages back in the day. It makes no sense that SOA gets ignored.

Except that no, it's not. :o

And I expect better from you than that Voight remark. That's like 2013/2014 join date-level nonsense.

We'll have to agree to disagree on American Horror Story but I remember even you admitting that this past season had a lot of problems. What was the purpose of Franken-Tate, other than to give Violet Zoe someone to obsess over?

As for Voight... Admittedly, sometimes I can't separate the actor's performance from their real personality, and Voight is one of those cases. Voight's ridiculous "Obama is a Marxist and the evil LIBRULS control the media" bullsh** has made me despise the man and actively avoid anything he's performed in over the past several years. Although his horrid acting in films like Anaconda and Transformers also played a role in that. I realize that judging an actor's ability in films such as those might be unfair, however, when you give the WORST performance in a bad movie (and in Anaconda, Voight hits Tor Johnson levels of awfulness), then I think you deserve some flack.

Probably because Kurt Sutter and Charlie Hunnam have called the Emmy people some choice names in the past, but Sutter was just nominated for original music & lyrics.

Rian Johnson not nominated for directing the best episode of Breaking Bad ever "Ozymandias"? :funny:

Well, yeah, there were things that I wasn't a fan of, but you can't put that in the same category as True Blood, where pretty much everything is something I'm not a fan of these days.

Sutter probably called them d***s or something at some point I'm guessing.

The climax of the Hannibal S2 finale was the most award-worthy thing I've ever seen, on all counts, and I'm never forgiving the Emmys for this one. :o

The Golden Globes are way more superior to the Emmy's in my eyes anyway.

Why no cinematography awards in tv? Hannibal would eat that up...

Isn't True Detective a miniseries?

Considering the short order of episodes in the season and the fact that McConaughey and Harrelson won't be back, by all accounts, it should've been categorized as a miniseries, but I really think HBO just wanted to show everyone how big their d*** is. And just for that, it kinda makes want to see Breaking Bad sweep the categories.

There are. But *****ey Emmys gonna *****e.

I can't believe they snubbed Tatiana Maslany again. Well, I take that back, I can totally believe it, it just enrages me. :argh:

Question for you guys. Since the Emmys are again showing love for Netflix shows, do you think there'a a chance we could see Daredevil and some of the other Marvel shows get nominated someday, if they're high quality? Or will they be ignored like Arrow, simply because they're of the superhero genre?

Probably ignored. The Walking Dead is on a very Emmy-favored network, but, you know.... eesh, teh zombiezzz!

Heh, Game of Thrones getting the most noms definitely proves that.

That's what I'm saying. High concept genre stuff scares off the Emmy folks unless you've got Academy Award winners on-board (Hi, American Horror Story and early days True Blood).

Yeah, they sent out a few "For Your Consideration" posters.

Terrible snub then. I guess 24 wouldn't be eligible til next year then.

The only really good thing I'm getting out of these nominations comedy-wise is that these people apparently watch Veep.

Otherwise... :o

It's high time they change the Emmy's. And they need to give out some honoray Emmy's to SMG and Lauren Graham. And plenty other shows on the WB.
