Unfortunately, that's the look I have on my face after every 49ers game these days. Even when we beat our rival in their own place last week, I had to deal with the sheer ineptitude of the league's new focus on the yellow hanky. It's just one big mistake fest and scandal cover-up for the NFL this year.

Let the excuses flow! :funny:

I'm sorry but I don't see anything scary about that Niner defense. The pass rush is old and nonexistent without Aldon. They need to start drafting DEs and DTs who aren't projects.

And then there's Kaeperdick. Remember when Jaws said he'd be the greatest QB ever?

Oh, it isn't. The secondary has come along farther than I expected, which has masked some of the front 7's problems.

It's hard for me to believe that my Panthers are in first place in the NFC South. This time last year they were calling for Rivera's head.

Something clicked. We can't explain it. Whatever it was, it changed the mindset of the team. I think it was a combination of Rivera growing some balls and our new general manager putting everybody on notice.

I will say that they are better this year than in recent years. Reid may just be the key to that secondary.

Hey, Johnny Football got in on the action today! HE WAS 0/1 FOR 0 YARDS. FUTURE HALL OF FAMER, THAT ONE. G.O.A.T.

To be fair, Manziel's pass should have been caught. Browns WRs have a bad tendency to not hold onto the football.

Why did they put him in to throw one pass? Was Hoyer hurt briefly or something?

The Browns have some pistol formation plays in their playbook that they plan to use on random occassions. Think of it like what everyone once did with the wild cat, only we use Johnny Manziel instead of a RB or WR. Manziel had 3 such plays.

Took a nap with the Niners winning, woke up and found out they lost. Wow.

I'm actually still laughing at Colin's selection of words at a Bear defender. Ironically, he called him the N word yet somehow Cam is the racist this weekend. Stay classy, Bambi.

I feel bad for Hoyer because I am not sure he has a REAL chance of staying around, regardless of talent level. If he is to last, the Browns MUST win these games. Otherwise, Manziel is going to be thrown in there, right or wrong. I like Hoyer. I think he has some wholes in his game, but he has shown more promise and a better understanding of playing QB than anyone the Browns have had in a LONG time. Not saying he is the guy, but I'd like to see him get a fair shot. I don't think our crappy WR corp really helps, either. Lots of bad drops again today.
It bothers me that it looks like Josh Gordon will be back just in time for Johnny Clipboard. Doesn't seem fair.

Yeah, I remember that. But to be fair, Jaws likes to give love to the vast majority of QBs. He gives a new meaning to, "looking on the bright side of life". The only guy Jaws doesn't like is RG3. At least he was right about him. :funny:

You D is old. Looks like the Steelers from a few years ago. When they were still passable, but not close to the force they were. If you guys continue this way, you'll look like the Steelers now. Incapable of stopping anyone.

Don't worry, they can both be racist. :o

Our D isn't playing at the level of '11 and '12 (for that matter, neither was last year's D), and I've been worried about that long before the season started. But I've been in a bad mood regarding football since the refs turned the 49ers beatdown of Dallas into a competitive game with three phantom calls (all of which were acknowledged by the announcers as highly questionable) in a short period of time.

The NFL's stupid rule changes have emboldened their incompetent officials to be more flag-happy than ever. The 49ers had enough problems of their own making without the clueless zebras arbitrarily enforcing the NFL's ticky-tack, nonsensical rules.

Speaking on that pass, when watching the highlights they were counting how many Mississippi the receiver was open for until manziel finally decided to throw it.... To be fair.

Cool?

Amazing that the Lions could look so good on Monday and so bad 6 days later.

Special teams mistakes killed us. Between Freese missing two very makeable FG's and the kickoff fumble, that's the difference in the game right there. Also on Stafford's pick Megatron was behind the Panthers DB and Staff just underthrew him.

I cannot believe the Bengals are 2-0.

Where did you find out that's what he said?

Went to the Dolphins/Bills game yesterday with some friends. Had a good time other than we missed the first quarter because they claimed our tickets were stolen. Finally got it figured out though. Ralph Wilson Stadium is a fun place to come. Even after 16 straight years of missing the playoffs, they still have some of the most passionate fans around. With the death of Ralph Wilson and everything Jim Kelly has gone through, I really hope this team makes the playoffs. Their fans deserve it.

I'm a Skins fan, and I must say, you folks in Buffalo certainly have some of the best fans in the league. I recall quite a lot making it to FedEx Field the last time we played the Bills down here.

I'm also a huge supporter of E.J. Manuel, so I wish you all the best this year

I hope we're getting the injury bug out of the way early and that it'll be relatively smooth sailing from October 5th onward. That early bye-week is looking like a God-send right about now, but after that it's thirteen straight weeks. It's gonna be tough.

First things first, though. Get the guys healthy and go from there. I look forward to seeing this offense with Dalton, Green, Jones, Sanu, Eifert, Gresham, Bernard, and Hill all back in together. If Dalton continues to play smart, they keep the turnovers to a minimum, and the defense continues to play lights out, then we could have a very exciting year ahead of us.
