2014 NFL thread: The Final Battle

Manziel is indeed a marketing stunt. The insane thing about him is I really believe that he thinks he can succeed in the NFL doing it the way he did at A&M. His physical tools have already been almost completely negated by the jump to the NFL, and he doesn't take it as a profession. He clearly doesn't put in the time in the film room or with the playbook.

This is exactly what I said to one of my buddies when I argued that Bridgewater would have a better career. Manziel's physicality got him through college, but I didn't see him lasting without that element of his game in the NFL.

It's funny, the other day I was getting a haircut and picked up an old issue of SI (2014 Draft Preview). I got a real kick out of what I read about Manziel :funny:

And by the way, Wilson has a 0.0 Passer Rating. :wow:

Someone else post Wilson's stats before the halftime is over. :whatever:

What did it say? :woot:

It is funny. Manziel at A&M was basically run around a bit, and when things got tough, throw it up to Mike Evans for the save. If you ever actually watched him in college, I don't get how you could think he would be a starting NFL QB. I seemed so obvious to me, that I thought only that idiot Bayless thought he had a chance.

It is also amazing how skinny and small he looks on the football field. Wilson isn't the tallest, but he has some width to him. You can see him taking the hits. Manziel is a lot like RG3. He looks like he is going to break every time he gets hit.

I'm trying to remember exactly what it said, but something along the lines of his "uncanny ability to escape" benefitting him at the pro level, a comparison to Drew Brees, and his unpredictability in the pocket. It really made me wonder what was so unpredictable about him; I mean, the fact that he's going to take off and run?

Now that I think about it, Bayless also praised RGIII in the same manner, which is unsettling. But definitely, I agree in regards to it being pretty obvious that he wasn't ready for the NFL. I can't remember the last time I looked at a QB in college and had such a clear opinion of him. When it's all said and done, even Ryan Tannehill will most likely have a better career than him.

I hate to say it, but I agree. It's hard to see both him and RGIII lasting a full season without getting injured.

You have to be looking for that. You have to. Jesus.

Had to do something to try to build some momentum. That works.

McCarthy is mister conservative, and he lets that happen? Horrible head coach.

I am prepared for the chance Greenbay might lose. There is always next year.

I'm enjoying this, especially after Sherman's and Chancellor's comments last week.

Suck it, Seattle.

Pretty good drive from Green Bay, and another clutch kick.

Well, that's the end of that.

Wilson finally throws his 4th INT. It was coming all second half.
