2015 was going to be one crowded year

Yeah, I have to admit..the Batman/Superman film fills me with dread.

Avatar is now 2016. so december is free. which movie will get it? WB should realese Superman and batman in december. i dont belive that superman/batman are only summer movies.

Warcraft? I don't think that movie has a release date yet. Feels like Warcraft makes more sense, continuing the tradition of a big fantasy-movie in December after Lord of the Rings and Hobbit

its not going to be based on the Frank Miller comic. they just used the line to announce the movie.

and talking to Miller is just for promotion

True but its just a matter of Zach Snyder, who largely made his name with a shot for shot adaptation of a Miller comic, announcing the movie with a Miller quote and then "talking with Miller" about the film is more or less indicative of a certain kind of direction they want to take the movie.

I'm so glad my most anticipated films are coming out in 2014 and 2016.

2014
TASM2
DOFP

2016
Star Trek III

At least they will have room to breathe from TA2, SW7, and others.

Can't wait! All out war with Klingons should be amazing!

i forgot about 300 and Miller. because of you i am now scared :wow:

I think Star Wars 7 has now become my most anticipated.

Yeah, I've been thinking about Episode 7 lately. Out of every movie announcement we've gotten so far, that was definitely the biggest and most surprising. I'm really excited to see Episode 7's villain because even in Episode 1, Darth Maul was a villain that barely says a word but manages to leave an impact on viewers. Everyone that's ever seen the movie knows that when he ignites that double-bladed lightsaber it's a big deal. And of course Episode 6 introduced Darth Vader to the world. I don't even need to mention how huge of a villain he is.

And also World of Warcraft is one that's on my mind lately too. Hoping the movie has these beautiful visuals. I know that's something Legendary can deliver. And that music is so rich. This is what the movie needs.

I prefer the DC Universe but the Snyder-Goyer team is not giving me hope that the Batman/Superman film will be a good movie.

I think Superman/Batman is the 2015 movie I'm most excited for, but all three of the big ones will definitely be events and experiences to remember.

Honestly, I just want too see Lightsabers again. :oldrazz:

The last four minutes of MOS alone push it's sequel to the top of my list for that particular year. Mix that in with a Snyder//Nolan/Miller(year one) batman and it's not something I'd be ok with missing. Like Morrison said, we've finally got a "credible superman" bring on the after origin story.

Avengers seems like it will be more of the same however this time without the novelty, I'm just hoping this next batch of films add something to the characters before that happens(particularly cap). I am experiencing a sort of Ironman fatigue at this point similar to my Hugh Jackman fatigue.

I think my antip for SW07 would be higher had this been JJ's follow up to the first star trek film. I fear between his last two films JJ lost a bit of my awe and wonder and I've started to receive his conventions a more of a face value. I am looking forward to his opening sequence though. His lightsabre stuff should be cool too(though it probably will all be in the trailer). The obligatory space craft runs will mean nothing to me. I am curious about where Luke is in all this.

ID4 sequel without will smith...
Even with will it's going to lose a step, I mean MIB3 should be evidence of that. He just don't bring the same bankable things to the table. And Emmerich needs to stop with the digital everything, his films have lost a texture for me. Bring back the miniatures or something. Between Stargate/ID4/Universol...I miss that guy.

With the studios liking to Zimmer-ize their action scores, I'd be pleasantly surprised if we get that same type of symphonic score for the World of Warcraft film. And the "Wrath of the Lich King" intro is simply magnificent.

I really liked MOS but of 2015's big 3, WF has the most potential to f**k up.

The trouble for Bat/Supes for me at the moment is that it almost sounds like Snyder was forced into using Batman, like he never really wanted it yet anyway in a sequel.

Someone being forced to do something usually only generates bad feelings and outcomes in movies.

As far as fanboys are concerned..maybe.

Then again, following up something like avengers has it's particular obstacles and stakes.
For example, Option A: another city battle, really?
Option B: the last one had that epic battle in the city, this one has what?
Good luck Whedon. Like I said before, this time the novelty has wore off.

A true sequel to the star wars saga presents it's own particular set of expectations. If JJ was ever setting himself up for scrutinizaition, this is it. Thank goodness this is a follow up to the prequels and not the originals. Still...

Worlds Finest presents it's own obstacles/pressures, such as following up the Nolanverse, among other things.

I think all of the above share an equal opportunity to drop the ball. I would argue the one with the biggest ball to drop probably has the biggest shot at the box office haul.

Just seeing the Avengers working together as they fight Ultron should be great. We didn't see that with Loki. And potentially, the Masters could be thrown into the mix. There are plenty of ways to make it better than the first movie's action. More personal, too.

I think more people will end up seeing AoU this time around than they did TA. Reason being is more people have had a chance to see the movie since its release in theaters. If they didn't see it in theaters, they watched it at home. Not to mention a story involving the MCU's most bankable character Tony Stark creating a sentient killer robot will draw a lot of attention.

Just seeing them fight as a team was enough the first time around. I fear critics are grown far to cynical in this day and age. On a dime a film can be the one to hate and picked on.

I hope Whedon gives us something as equally new and exciting and compelling otherwise he will fall into the place more followups to hits end up, harshly compared to the last(TDKR/Matrix/IM the list goes on and on).

This example is better served with James Cameron on the avatar sequels, the novelty is gone and the critics are already out for blood after the warm bath they gave the last one. The tragedy is that with JC not writing the films himself he's just giving the criticism's an early excuse.

On a personal note, it sucks he's not writing, that man is has a very clever control over cinema.

Actually, he made the story, he hired people so that they can polish the script, which is a smart thing considering many critics dislike his dialogue. How is he giving critics an early excuse? Most directors don't even write their oun scripts.

He wrote script writers whom themselves will get a scripting credit. I'm not even sure what he will get at this point, Story perhaps. Look at the TDK trilogy for how oddly this can be handled. Who actually is doing what and how has the masses asserted credit and blame.

My point is when it comes to people looking for an easy place to fault these films for falling short, the answer may come in the form of all these different writers. I already read about one of these guys being laughed at for AvP.
Anyways my point was they gave Avatar like 85% and a best picture nom that year, given the film a less than flattering score and pushing the rhetoric that the writing fell short this time is a very easy way out to excuse finally given the property the score your agenda demands and still looking objective.

Some critics may fault his dialogue, Titanic/True Lies/T2, really? That's a shame if so.
