2015 was going to be one crowded year

Just seeing them fight as a team was enough the first time around. I fear critics are grown far to cynical in this day and age. On a dime a film can be the one to hate and picked on.

I hope Whedon gives us something as equally new and exciting and compelling otherwise he will fall into the place more followups to hits end up, harshly compared to the last(TDKR/Matrix/IM the list goes on and on).

This example is better served with James Cameron on the avatar sequels, the novelty is gone and the critics are already out for blood after the warm bath they gave the last one. The tragedy is that with JC not writing the films himself he's just giving the criticism's an early excuse.

On a personal note, it sucks he's not writing, that man is has a very clever control over cinema.

Dave Chen of my favorite podcast Slashfilm mentioned the possible desensitization of film critics be it cynicism or just being worned out. He even mentioned that maybe it's not wise for critics to review movies during festivals. It's nearly impossible to absorb 5-6 movies for the course of 2-3 days and write fair reviews for each.

Looks like Ted 2 has been added to the list of releases in 2015

I haven't seen Ted so....idk what to make of this anyways.

I honestly didn't care for the first one. Everyone seems to be making the movie out to be some sort of comedy gold. The movie is vastly overrated.

Eh I seriously have no interest watching it. Its like the next Hangover series.

Is Ted worth a watch? I haven't had much experience with Seth's humor besides the Oscars (I liked his humor there)?

I really liked Ted and I'm a McFarlane fan in general. I'm excited alright.

Yea I put my money on Avengers 2 and Man of Steel 2 or World's Finest ( whatever they are planning on calling the Superman and Batman movie) to be the biggest hits. Records will be broken for sure!

I think WF will be behind SW7 and Avengers 2.

I forgot about Star Wars 7. I think it will be Avengers 2, World's Fines or Man of Steel 2 and Star Wars 7 and Jurassic Park 4 being the top movies.

I'm unsure what to think of JP4. How do you guys think it will do?

I think something like Finding Dory will make more than Jurassic Park 4. I think it's a safe bet that at least one or two animated movies will be in top ten of the year. Past JP-sequels wasn't huge at the box office. The fourth really need to bring something new if it doesn't want to be ignored in this crowded summer.

I'm not so sure SW7 is going to make a 2015 release. They haven't even started casting it yet and it's going to take at least two years to do all the CGI. I think they're still working on the story for it, which they can't really finalize until they know if Fisher, Hamill and Ford are signing on. I doubt Ford will agree to anything without looking at a script first. It's going to be a while until SW7 is before the cameras. I'm thinking it'll probably be more like 2016-2017.

There are rumors that Disney may move SW from summer to december 2015.

That's good. I for one want to see the chaos and anarchy when all these cool movies come out and coexist at the same time in the Summer of 2015. I know it would never happen but what if Avengers 2, Star Wars VII and World's Finest were released at the same time(and when I mean the same time I mean same day, same minute)? I know chances are World's Finest would get the short end of the stick and not make as much at the box office but what would the general atmosphere look like at the cinemas all around the world when it's Fanboy/girl vs Fanboy/girl?

if those 3 big movies are realesed from may to july one will underperform hard. haaaard.

I figured, unless critics give glowing reviews. But chances are it's going to be:

  1. Star Wars VII
  2. Avengers 2
  3. Superman/Batman

The way I see it happening in terms of BO performance is:

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron
2. Superman/Batman
3. Star Wars Episode 7

I'm excited for JP4 because of the possibility of there finally being a theme park full of people with live Dinosaurs on display, followed by an escape. It seems like the obvious way to go that hasn't been explored yet. But I don't think JP4 will be directly behind the big 3 in the BO. I think the likely candidates for that number 4 spot are Hunger Games, Bond 24, Finding Dory, Ant-Man, Fantastic-Four, Spongebob Squarepants 2, Pirates 5, or Ted 2
