2015 was going to be one crowded year

So excited for 2015!!!

Superman/Batman
Jurassic Park 4
Avengers: Age of Ultron

I forgot there was another How the Grinch Stole Christmas due out for 2015. The one with Carrey was great, and I didn't really like The Lorax or that elephant movie. We'll see how this goes... I don't see it topping the Carrey version.

I don't know how no one has adapted Green Eggs and Ham yet. Someone suggested it could be expanded to be kind of a satire of chefs and reality cooking.

That was already debunked by Variety.

Variety, like Deadline and every other trade outlet, gets things wrong from time to time. They got the standard 'it's not true' statement from Disney's reps, which doesn't mean squat.

Or it means everything. Just because some don't want to believe it. Devin has been wrong about every single thing about Episode VII so far. Variety has more of a track record then Devin as of late anyways.

SW7 needs to be a summer movie. A December release just wouldn't work.

So if it's moved at all, I think it'll be moved to summer 2016.

Fox has originally scheduled the first Star Wars to Christmas 1976, but the post-production woes moved it to summer 1977.

The highest grossing film of all time (Avatar) came out in December, and now that the sequel's not coming until 2016... a big opportunity for Disney to swoop in and lay claim to it.

I just don't see Disney moving Avengers: Age of Ultron or Pirates of the Caribbean 5 to accommodate E7. They'll want to own 2015, revenue-wise, and what better way to seal that with Episode VII coming out for Christmas?

December release would work.

But SW is more fitting to a summer release.

I had no idea a remake for How The Grinch Stole Christmas was being planned.

Or they could make it into a chase film like "North By Northwest".

Pirates has no business being in 2015.

Its one of the highest grossing franchises of all time and is coming off 2 consecutive billion dollar movies. Lol. Pirates actually has more box office cred than any other movie franchise in 2015 except star wars. I just wish the movies were better.

I'll rephrase - a December release for SW7 would work, it just wouldn't be as awesome as a summer release. But maybe I'm biased because I remember seeing Star Wars tons of times in theaters in summer 1977 so to me it's just got to be a summer movie.

But I'm cynical about it being done in time for 2015 anyway because they haven't even started casting it yet.

That's just the thing, they already have giant tentpoles coming out that year, what do they have lined up for the first half of '16?

It wouldn't shock me if Assasins Creed is delayed to 2016.

The Penguins of Madagascar are getting a movie?

I swear I thought that was you just being a smart ass, but then I go to IMDB.....:o

Smurfs 3 is probably going to get wrecked. Are they seriously making that?

I think Finding Dory is going do some good numbers. Highest grossing kids' flick of 2015? Or will that go to Alvin? I'm thinking either Finding Dory or Spongebob Squarepants 2. Maybe Inside Out might be a surprise, or whatever Disney Animation has lined up for that year. Not excited to see a Peanuts movie, though. I don't even think it's relevant with today's kids.

Blue Sky can make it relevant I think. They do all right.

Well if something like Peabody and Sherman is being made, I could imagine this working. Maybe it'll get me to like Peanuts.
