2015 was going to be one crowded year

Reminds me of 2007 and 2008.

The summer of 2007 was especially crazy. We had Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Live Free or Die Hard, Ratatouille, Transformers, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Simpsons Movie, and The Bourne Ultimatum, to name the biggest hits.

2008 had The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones 4, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy 2, Wall-E, Kung-Fu Panda, Hancock, Wanted, and Chronicles of Narnia 2.

And, sadly, most of those 2007-2008 (especially 2007) movies were mediocre at best. I have a feeling that 2015 will also be a big "meh" for me. At least when it comes to all those sequels.

Soon this thread is going to have to be re-titled if any more movies get pushed back :o

Looking at 2016 you now have three superhero-movies in May only. Batman vs. Superman, an "untitled Marvel superhero movie" and X-Men: Apocalypse. Plus you have Amazing Spider-Man 3 scheduled for June 10. Oh, and another "untitled Marvel movie" is supposed to be released July 8. If that isn't crazy I don't know what possibly could be. I have a feeling at least one will move out of this battle zone

I think the Marvel Studios film date are just placeholders They haven't fully decided on what those films are yet, so production schedules aren't underway. I'm pretty sure they'll move.

Bond 24 has my main interest for the 2015 event movies.

Agreed. I'm sure one of them will snag the July 4th spot. The other will likely move to something like Thanksgiving. That's how I see it.

2015 just got less interesting with Batman/Superman out of the way.

Yep. My excitement was like a 10/10 now it's a 7/10. I was really looking forward to the proverbial Clash of the Titans between into everyone's favourite trifecta. :csad:

Plus a little competition's always fun when the Summer Box Office rolls around.

Excitement is definitely down. Now I'm just excited for Jurassic World and Star Wars. I could careless about Avengers because I wasn't a huge fan of the first one and I'm burnt out on Marvel movies, theyre every year, had 2 this year and they're all the same thing

2015 is no longer as crowded, multiple heavy hitters changed their dates. Is Star Wars still being released in 2015 or was it pushed too?

No it's December 2015, and for sure now won't be changed, now that May is crowded. It's date is locked.

2016 looks like it will be the biggest year for superhero films. You have the three most iconic superheroes - Batman, Superman, Spider-Man - all in the same year. On top of that, you also have Wonder Woman and Wolverine (and the rest of the X-Men by extension).

With Batman vs Superman slated for the first weekend in May and Marvel moves their film it will be the first time since 2005 that they didn't have one of their properties (Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, Avengers) opening the summer season.

It would be great if WB could do a bold move and announce Batman vs. Superman for May 6, 2016 and Justice League for late July 2016.

Then Summer 2017 can have 2 spinoff films, 2018 has a Man of Steel sequel and another spinoff with a Batman film in 2019.

2015 is now not as exciting for me. :( But I'm still totally looking forward to Avengers 2 and jurassic world. And pretty much anything that comes out that year.

Just goes to show just how much of this event that is '2015' was based on Worlds Finest coming off of MoS.

And yet I'm not anywhere near as interested in any of those films as I am the 2 Marvel Studios mystery projects. This news really doesn't do much to change my anticipation of 2015 at all. Avengers 2 and Ant-Man were always my top picks since that's the first year there'll be no Tolkien film in 3 years.

On opening day, I will pay to see whatever movie Marvel releases. They have earned my money sight unseen based on their careful universe-building and entertaining movies. DC, on the other hand...I'll probably sneak into a screening of Batman vs Superman after the Marvel movie ends...or just wait til Netflix. DC will get more of my money when they start earning it. They got a gift from me for Green Lantern, and Jonah Hex, and Man of Steel...I'll even count Dark Knight Rises since it was a mediocre end to a great franchise that shouldn't have ended. They owe me a few good movies before I reinvest.

I don't do Marvel movies anymore. They're so mediocre and sometimes cringe worthy with their bad humor that they aren't worth my money. Dc if the movie looks good then I will. Green Lantern and Hex looked awful so i stayed far away whereas the dark knight trilogy and man of steel were fantastic. I'd rather see 4 quality films spread out over 9 years than the same mediocre crap year after year and last year they had 2, this year they have 2. Burnt out on it

To boot, we don't even know what Marvel Studios has planned for 2016 yet. They'll probably announce their Phase 3 films at Comic Con this year. If I were to guess, one of the projects might be Thor 3.

Batman vs. Superman
The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Star Wars: Episode VII
007 James Bond 24
Mission: Impossible 5

I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 of those movies get moved to 2016.

Said this a few months ago. One down. One to go.

Actually there already has been "the other one" Actually a few. Pirates 5 was moved, as well as WarCraft. That is probably it for now, or 2016 will just become as over crowded.

I don't see any of the others moving except for maybe Mission: Impossible 5. Avengers is definitely locked in.
