4 year old S. Carolina girl shoots herself with grandma's handgun in Sam's Club

I still, to this day, don't even know where the Sam's Club is around here...

I have worked in that store a couple times. In fact, a cowroker of mine was working in the store when this happened. Quite a scary thing. As for DeaDHeaD's comment, not only are almost every one of their stores safe, but the one where this happened, is in a pretty nice neighborhood. Very sad for this to happen.

ShadowBoxing, where do you live, I probably know where the Sam's is.

The one in my town only cares about if you are stealing from them, they have two people at the door, one person checks you for a membership card, and the other checks your receipt as you leave.

The Safety of the store is decided entirely by the people who shop there. and whether or not its double coupons tuesdays or what-have-you.

What town would that be?

Isn't Sam's Club like the Wal-Mart version of Costco?

I'm pretty sure all of them do this.

Anyway, what the hell? Did the whole grabbing-the-gun-from-Granny's-purse, then-shooting-herself thing happen so fast the Grandma didn't even see it come out of her purse?

Jeeeez. Stupid, stupid people.

When I look at the world it fills me with sorrow
Little children today are really gonna suffer tomorrow
Oh what a shame, such a bad way to live
All who is to blame, we can't stop livin'
Live, live for life
But let live everybody
Live life for the children
Oh, for the children
You see, let's save the children
Let's save all the children
Save the babies, save the babies
If you wanna love, you got to save the babies
All of the children...

Well, kids can get into trouble very quickly. Grandma could've turned her back for less than a minute grabbing something off the selves. Can't understand why Granny thought she needed to be packing heat going to Costco.

My grandfather would tote around a handgun when going out at night. He'd have it on the seat next to him, this was in Georgia.

I know that's right. :o

A group I'm with is going to the gun range next week but I can't make it. :csad:

She didn't die

You say that like it makes much of a difference. It's miraculous that the girl survived . The Grandmother was looking away from the girl for too much time. Everyone that has been around children knows that have to keep glanching over to make sure they arent climbing out of the carriage , or playing with your handgun .

I don't blame Granny. Sam's Club is one rough place.
I guess it depends on who's there that day. Because I'll be damned if someone is going to take my giant bag of Doritos and big ass box of Apple Jacks.
