Detroit Girl, 3, Shoots Self in Head

DETROIT — A 3-year-old girl found a gun in a bedroom of her home and shot herself in the head Sunday, police said.
One of the girl's parents apparently owned the gun, and at least one parent was home when she shot herself Sunday afternoon. Police questioned the parents and took the gun, the Detroit Free Press reported.
The girl was taken to Sinai Grace Hospital, then transferred to Children's Hospital of Michigan. The Detroit News reported she was in critical condition.

My God...I hope she makes it...:csad:

Yeahhh... This is why I don't come here that much anymore. Goodbye.

wow, that is poor responsibility on the parent

I hope she can make it :csad:

Reminds me of "Planet Terror."

****in' idiot parents. The gun bloody gun should be in a safe or something.

Or just not have it in the house at all. Kids get into things, it is a fact of life. You can't stop your kids from being curious or exploring the world around them. But you can keep things like guns out of thier reach. Just keep it somewhere other then in the house, or at the very least lock it up and keep the key on you at all times.

And maybe make sure it's not loaded, just in case something like this does happen.

Sad. I say take the gun, and pistol whip the parents with it.

That's horrible :csad:

Agreed with both, that's what my dad did. (I didn't even know we had a safe/where our shot gun was until I was 8)

I wonder if the parents keep the gun after this indicent...

Are they sure it wasn't one of the parents?
