60 fps. Your opinion?

It seems 60FPS only works on old PS3 games that receive PS4 upgrades.

I like 60FPS for certain types of games, especially multiplayer beat'em ups, racers, many shooters etc but for solo campaigns I prefer the focus to be on other things as long as the frame rate is locked at a minimum of 30FPS.

And in films? Forget it, 60fps should be forbidden on movies, everything looks so s***ty and artificial
So basically, the more "cinematic" you want the experience to be, the less inclined you should be towards making it 60fps
but if you want to go for more immersion and realism, 60 wins out

The same reason it looked weird when PJ did it with the Hobbit flicks. Your eyes are too used to seeing that **** in a fantasy setting and when stuff that isn't real moves like it does in real life....it looks off.

This is exactly how I felt after watching the first Hobbit film. You need some sort of filter, filming it 'as is' really shows. Sets look like sets, and things like bald-caps and CGI really standout in a bad way.

I tried to play the Last of Us Remastered on PS4 with the higher frame rate, but it was too distracting to me. I had to lock it at 30fps.

It's pretty interesting how subjective this really is. My dad loves the look of 60fps and smooth motion, but my brother and I hate the hell out of it, lol

Were all games before 360 always in 60fps? I wonder if the mediocre/terrible graphics made it almost inconsequential, because I never used to notice it as something distracting, but now whenever I see it, something seems off, then I check and it's inevitably 60.

Or maybe I was just younger and not looking for it?

I think that this is a pretty good side-by-side comparison. There are quite a few videos out there, but I like this one. You'll notice on the left, the moving image looks like it's dragging and has a bit of a ghosting affect, if you will. While the right side moves smoothly and there is none of that dragging and ghosting affect. I noticed the difference right from the beginning. Hopefully you will too. I suggest making it full screen and 1080p/60fps.
