A Certain Magical Index And Scientific Railgun Game Coming This Winter

. October 14, 2013 . 3:15pm The A Certain Magical Index And Scientific Railgun Game will be a new style action-puzzle game, featuring the characters of the series.

Electromaster Misaka Mikoto has recently been confirmed as one of the fighters in Sega’s upcoming game, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, and it looks like she might be seeing more action as this month’s issue of Dengeki Bunko magazine reports a new game based on the A Certain series is in the works.

A scan from a magazine reads: “Winter 2013! New game production for ‘A Certain Magical Index’ and ‘A Certain Scientific Railgun’ confirmed!”

It also mentions that it will be a new style action-puzzle game, featuring the characters of the series. The platform for the upcoming game has yet to be revealed, but Dengeki Bunko will announce more information on next month’s issue of the magazine.

A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun’s new game is slated for release this winter.​

Banpresto is creating a crossover game that brings together A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun called A Certain Magical and Scientific Ensemble. Dengeki PlayStation announced it will come out in Japan on February 21.

A Certain Magical and Scientific Ensemble is an adventure game, so it probably won’t be import friendly. Fans might want to give the PSP game a look because the 9,980 yen ($127) limited edition has four chibi figures in the package. A standalone game costs 6,280 yen ($80) in stores or on PlayStation Network.

I'm actually more interested in the fighting game, so I'm really hoping it will get a western release on the PS3 or PS4.

In A Certain Magical and Scientific PuzDecks, you form parties featuring characters from both series to take on enemies in a simple puzzle game fashion.

Earlier last year, we reported that a new action-puzzle game featuring characters from A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun was in the works. The game has been revealed as A Certain Magical and Scientific PuzDecks (Puzzle Decks) for smartphones.

In A Certain Magical and Scientific PuzDecks, you form parties featuring characters from both series to take on enemies in a simple puzzle game fashion. The game features a co-op mode, where you can tag up with friends to go on boss raids. There’s also a competitive versus mode, where you can test your wits against others.
​

​

The decks consist of cute chibi-style characters from the A Certain series and they appear on-screen as part of the puzzle battles. You’ll be able to enhance and evolve them so they can contribute more to the fight, and there’s also certain character match-ups that can be put together for “Deck Skills”.

The game also features… special images as rewards for completing certain tasks.

A Certain Magical and Scientific PuzDecks is currently available as a free-to-play title with premium items for iOS and Android in Japan.​

Yeah, Japan never ceases to amaze us with title names either. As part of the collaboration, players into it will be able to pick up the girls as above.

Logging in for five days will net you the SR Misaka Mikoto card.​

You’ll be able to fight off whatever those monsters are in the screenshot above as well in a special dungeon. The event runs from the 18th of September till the 30th.

My Princess is the Cutest casts players as that folk lore hero, the Frog Prince. Battles are fought in a slingshot style, as each girl lends their powers to you and you bounce around the battlefield smashing into foes or bosses before momentum is lost. There’s a huge cast of voiced princesses for you to have and hold and argue fervently that yes, this girl is the cutest.

My Princess is the Cutest is out now on iOS and Android.

Square Enix has announced A Certain Magical Index: Imaginary Fest, an “academy superpower battle RPG” for iOS and Android devices based on the popular light novel series. It will launch as a free-to-play title with item-based micro-transactions in 2019 in Japan.

The game will feature characters that appeared in the anime and movies, as well as the latest characters from the light novel and side-story comic. Players will be able to relive scenes from the anime, and powerful techniques will be reproduced in 3D with simple controls. By building a strong deck with your favorite characters, you will be able to fight using your very own dream team.

A Certain Magical Index, the 3D arena fighting game released on PSP, recently got a full English fan translation patch by dedicated translator JeruTz.
