A COMPLETED Star Wars Rogue Squadron Game For The Wii Was Canceled

"The Wii trilogy was eventually finished, but once again, Factor 5's Star Wars project was shut down.

Eggebrecht largely attributes the cancellation to the financial crisis of 2008 and the fact that the team had taken it upon themselves to self-fund the project in order to claim a larger "piece of the pie" once it was distributed. I feel bad for Factor 5. Rogue Squadron was my favorite N64 game as a kid and I loved it's sequels. Would have loved another Rogue Squadron game and a Superman game by them.

Maybe it will still get released?

I mean if it's finished, it's stupid to just sit on it. Release it as a downloadable game.

It was worked on for the Wii in 2007 or 2008.

Factor 5 is out of business and LucasArts is dead. If EA did take this game and made it for the Wii U though, I would buy a Wii U for that sole reason.

Factor 5 was also working on a Rogue Squadron trilogy for the PS3 & XB360 that sadly got cancelled as well

in a way, i'm kinda glad Lucasarts went under because in the past 10 years they cancelled many promising games that no doubt would have been hits
