The Dark Knight A few questions I had about "sides".

Hey guys, I read the sides for "The Dark Knight" and I know that they are some kind of script, but are they real? Will those scenes be in the movie? What exactly is the point of the sides, and how did we get them? How do we know that they're official?

Also, does anybody know where I could get the sides from "Batman Begins"? Thanks in advance.

Sides are basically small bits of a script that are put out there for aspiring actors to audition with. Basically, an actor will go to a site like Showfax, download these, practice them, and then show up for an audition.

They're for small roles, not anything big. You'll notice there aren't any scenes between just major characters, they're all auditions for characters like "Fat Thug" and "SWAT Leader". "Bank Manager" was another small one, although it appears Nolan decided to use that as a walk-on role for his apparent friend William Fichtner

For the most part, we can assume these are real. We know for a fact these are official, we just dont know for sure if they'll all be in the final cut in the movie. Obviously details were changed, which is why the names are different.

And of course, we know they're real because a) They were put up on professional sites like Showfax. b) WB had them removed after the public caught onto them and c) filming in Chicago matches a great deal of those sides.

Well they're shooting a scene with a bank robbery and school buses so that matches two of the sides. They were released so actors could practice auditions for side roles.

EDIT: if you find a side where the Joker is in the batcave trying on a batsuit...that was an April Fools joke
