Had this idea that an animated feature from TLH would top all others...
Cooked up this little design:

The story in "The Long Halloween" was great, but Tim Sales art does nothing for me. I hate the way he draws. maybe thats just me though

^It would be great, Cobblepot. Very dark and moody.
Another one that could be terrific it would be an "Arkham Asylum" animation, as already suggested by CConn (if I remember correctly), with Dave McKean doing the designs and all. Too bad it's not going to happen. :(

No, please, no. There are about 100 stories which are better. TLH is just poorly plotted and written. Although it has some good quotes.

You crazy?
It's one of the best Batman books out there.
Go eat nachos!

What are some of the 100 that are better in your opinnion?

Should I really list them all? :wow:

some "longer" stories::

Go and start with Batman Annual 14 which is actually the better Two-Face origin story.

"Blind Justice" is the most underrated Batman story out there.

"The Cult" is also very interesting if you like a little harder stuff.

"Going Sane", which is actually superior to "The Killing Joke" IMHO.

Yes, because I don't like a book I'm crazy :whatever:

Most people just look at the art and think "Wow, cool, best batman book ever".

It's actually a mystery story where the reader hasn't got any chance to solve the riddle. Batman doesn't investigate anything. The Riddler didn't get killed. Why? It just doesn't make sense. Bruce Wayne is put on trial - for what? Because his father saved the Roman' life once? It's impossible to find out who Holiday is because even by the end it's not clear. Loeb didn't even focus on the Harvey's coin. Nah. If you like it, like it. But I do not.

I actually like 'Dark Victory' more than 'The Long Halloween'.

Nah, I was just kinda surprised someone thought that there were 100 better stories... ;) And actually, I haven't heard of very many of those stories, other than Batman Annual #14. What's "Going Sane" about? I might have to look into that...

In "Going Sane" the Joker thinks he had killed Batman (who is just injured), thinks he has won and goes to live a normal live. He is even going to marry. But in the end Batman recovers and finds the Joker.

An animated film...not just in respect for, but because it was so awesome...would have to be done by the Timmverse crew. To me, an animated movie with Batman that isn't done by them or at least their design style isn't a Batman animated film.

But the idea for this would be awesome.

I'd LOVE to see it!

Kevin Conroy on vocals, if you please. :word:

Yeah, I agree with the last few posts.

It'd be awesome, if done by Timmverse with those designs and voice actors, instead of Sale designs. No Shirley though. :csad:

In Timmverse style or continuity? The last one would be difficult.

Nope if they do it they have to use Tim Sale's design.
In a few weeks we will have a "New Frontier" animated movie and maybe we're going to get TDK too.
I'm sure TLH has great potential.

I think an animated film in Sale's design wouldn't look good. I keep on picturing his style going on with animation and it looks odd.

Yea, I heard about the New Frontier movie; that can be done in Cooke's style and I hope it will. But that only works cause he has a cartoonish style.

Not all cartoons have Bruce Timm designs...ever looked at Anime?

I hate Anime.

My point was, this is a Batman animated film...aside from the fact that all of the Batman animated stuff is done in Timm's design...Sale's design wouldn't look good animated. I love his art, don't get me wrong, but I keep picturing his art being animated (in motion) for a few scenes and it doesn't look right.

Here's a Poison Ivy I had in mind:
