Iron Man "A man with a dozen of these would rule the whole of Asia"

I think you guys have got a pretty big clue as to how ol' Mandy's involved in this one in the new full trailer...and not only with that quote...

Check out the shot of Stark's suspicious kidnapper at around 34 seconds...

;)

I saw that the first time too... But he's got just 1 ring... How loosely based is this going to be?
An Afgani dude with a ring which has no perceived powers doesn't seem to fit the bill.

That blue energy blast at the end of the trailer has me wondering though. That is too big to come from Iron Man or Iron Monger, looking at the size(width) of that beam. It almost looks like some power blast, only way it could be from Iron Monger is if it's him exploding.

Then again it shoots up in the air like an aimed beam. For all we know Favreau could have some surprises up his sleeve with this film.

We'll have to see. But tha blast sounds like a potencialyzed JERICHO.

Not necessarily. Will Sal Maroni in TDK seem like a rehash of Carmine Falcone? They're essentially the same type of crime-boss character. Corrupt corporate guys are Stark/Iron Man's stock and trade. Suppose Stane is the Mandarin's pawn/ally(which appears likely), with him gone the Mandarin would need another ally in corporate America as his go to guy. And Hammer wouldn't put on a suit of armor and fight Iron Man like Stane does. More likely he'd have one of his agents do that, like SpyMaster or Ghost, etc.

But Maroni isn't going to be the main villain in TDK. Having another businessman as the main villain in Iron Man 2 would be repetitive.

I wasn't saying have Hammer be the main villain in IM2. Just part of a greater villainous plot with the Mandarin at the top, who uses Hammer and Hammer's connections to extend the Mandarin's influence and evil or whatnot and with a lower level villain under Hammer(like spymaster, ghost, etc.) who's more of the physical threat to Stark/Iron Man.

I Think the villains should be Hammer, Crimson Dynamo and Titanium-Man.

That was weird, its good they have us wondering but if that is connected to the Mandarin it should have been omitted from the trailer.
As much as I can't wait to see cameos of Fury, and the crossover scene, these kinds of things should be omitted from the advertising.

For me I thought it was linked to some sort of explosion... Or maybe we are getting a Thor cameo as well :shock!

^My guess would be some kind of device was detonated.

I Think Iron Monger also robes the Jericho skematics.

I'm wondering how the "proprietary repulsor technology" is used with the Jericho missle. Is it the actual weapon part or the propulsion? I guess we'll have to wait and see, but we do know Iron Man uses repulsors both as propulsion and as a weapon from what we've seen in the trailers.

Yeah, what Bubonic said makes me worried for the first time about this movie... if, rather than being a shadowy, behind-the-scenes emporer palpatine style figure the mandarin is actually the Afghan warlord who captures Stark I will roll my eyes so hard they may pop out of my head. It's not like I want to see a magic and racist-fu-manchu-yellow-peril-stereotype mandarin, but it would be a real missed opportunity to change the whole essence of the character like that.

A Thor cameo would be great!!! While we are on the topic did anyone else pick up on the Hilary Swank cameo in the casino?
Going back to the topic I would like to see some tease at the end maybe involving the Mandarins subplot to get us excited for no2 !

3DMan, i don't know if you have seen the trailer, however:

In the Trailer, Stark shows a advance missile prototype, called ''The Jericho''. The prototype has thousands of little explosives inside it, that are target when the missile is lauched, causing the damage of a whole army in just one shot.

i stand corrected thank you
i havent seen the full trailer yet

So you see the Mandarin as being in the forefront, with Hammer being more or less a cameo?

Kinda like the level of villain Falcone was in BB. 3rd banana, with Mandarin and maybe Spymaster or Ghost more prominently featured.
