Months ago I wrote a Spider-Man 4 fan plot summary, that undoubtedly had major gaps in it and was unquestionably incomplete.
I've had months to re-formulate the ideas around in my head and I have a good idea. Anyone want to add to this (or possibly use more ideas), then feel free.
Ok, so it's been almost a year since the events of Spider-Man 3, which was only about a month after the events of Spider-Man 2. So we can guess that Spider-Man 4 takes place around 2005 (if, of course, Spider-Man took place in 2002). It's a sad moment for Peter Parker as he reflects on his small moment of praise he received for his alter ego Spider-Man. But ever since the symbiote changed him, the incriminating acts he did have changed the publics opinion of him and have given JJ Jameson more fuel for the fire of The Daily Bugle. It's not even a rare sight to see the NYPD attempting to arrest Spidey in the middle of him stopping a mug or theft attempt.
His relationship with Mary Jane Watson is still mending after the pain he put her through pre-symbiotic separation. MJ, though has completely forgiven Peter. But has Peter forgiven himself? MJ is ready to push the relationship to engagement, but Peter is reluctant, finally feeling that he no longer can afford to rush into anything. Also he has promised himself that he will no longer let his friends die because of his problems (remembering Harry Osborn's death at the hands of Venom).
Dr. Curt Connors has recently (pre-Spider-Man 4 events) hired Peter Parker as his lab assistant and Peter works on little projects at his beck and call that will later be assembled to a much larger project that Dr. Connors has yet to reveal to Peter.
Flint Marko has promised to never again raise a hand against the police, and to restrain from thievery. JJ sends Peter to snap photos of a Walk for Leukemia Program currently going on in Central Park. Flint is there watching the people. Peter talks to him and Flint expresses his aggravation at the walkers for thinking that just walking will fund his daughter's healing process. Flint also informs Peter that Penny is getting worse and he doesn't know how long it'll be before she dies. Flint has been holding secret meetings with a doctor that isn't suppose to give him information about the Leukemic cure that Manhattan Hospitals are working on. They say it's too unstable and could cause death. "So can Leukemia" states Flint. In one secret meeting with the doctor (Dr. Albert Husch) Albert checks Penny's medical exams and informs Flint that she has about a month to live. At this point Flint grabs the doctor and shoves him into the wall. He demands the cure to be given to him. Finally Dr. Albert gives in. He gives him the cure, knowing the potential risks it can cause. At the Marko home Mrs. Marko walks in seeing Flint holding his daughter's arm about to inject her with the medicine. Flint stops dead in his tracks. Mrs. Marko explodes on him and starts to yell at him. Mrs. Marko tells Flint that she promises to divorce him as soon as possible. Flint leaves the home not wanting to cause any more trouble. Mrs. Marko then calls the police and sends them after Flint.
Spider-Man is making checking up on Flint, when he finds him in his neighborhood, with a cop close behind him. The cop takes out a gun specially designed to destroy sand. Spider-Man jumps and takes out the cop.
Because of this event the NYPD is desperate for help. They contact an African game hunter named Sergei Kravinoff to take out Spider-Man. Spider-Man has his first run in with Kraven after a date with MJ. This fight takes place around a construction zone (but unlike the construction zone in Spider-Man 3, there are workers actually working on the sight. Construction cranes actually operating) and it also perfectly depicts a high-speed, chaotic, adrenaline-pumping tribal fight, which so far is the fastest Spider-Man film fight on record. The fight also leads through several apartments.
Spider-Man barely managed to defeat Kraven. After this he noticed pains in his sides which are so bad that he's on the verge of death! He, as Spidey, goes to Dr. Connors and asks him what is the matter with him. Connors runs a few tests and then tells him that his mutation is furthering and if not cured it will literally kill him internally. Connors agrees to work on a cure. The next day Connors tells Peter what his lizard DNA project is about and asks him if he will finish it for him, while he works on a project for Spider-Man. Peter agrees. At his apartment Peter works on the lizard DNA project when his side begins to ache again, he then gets in his suit and goes around the city. Then suddenly he falls unconscious. He wakes up in a zoo and is greeted by Kraven. Spider-Man swings away, but soon Kraven takes him down to the ground. During this fight Peter's side continues to ache causing him to focus more on the pain then the fight. This gives Kraven the upper hand. Instead of using brute force, Peter uses his brain to defeat Kraven. He confuses Kraven in a maze until finally he looses him... or so he thought. Spider-Man goes into an alley and takes off his suit becoming Peter Parker again. Little does he know, but Kraven is watching from above on a building. Peter goes to his apartment, all the while sensing something is terribly wrong. Kraven is following him. This doesn't set off his spidey-sense to terribly bad though. Shortly after Peter is on a date with MJ. After the date, Kraven follows MJ home to see where she lives. Then he leaves to formulate his next plan.
At court Flint stands before court, having been captured. They inform him that he has been divorced by Mrs. Marko and he is not allowed to come within 100 feet of his daughter, Penny. Flint is then taken to a High Security prison.
Back at Peter's apartment, he finishes the lizard DNA project for Connors. He goes to give it to him. At this time Connors has finished the Spidey project.
Ok, I'm going to start making this a brief version...
Connors becomes Lizard. Kraven turns attention to Lizard. Spidey turns to protect Lizard (after finding out that he's Connors), fighting Kraven (also protecting himself against Lizard). The next battle is a sewer battle.
Peter finally decides to give up the chance to be cured (when realizing that the cure given to him by Connors can also work in Lizard's case). Peter treats Lizard with the cure. He becomes Connors again. Connors then turns to helping Spidey.
Spidey finds out that Penny is about to die. He then goes to break Flint out of prison. Flint then goes to save his daughter. He breaks into the house, grabs Penny and leaves, leaving Mrs. Marko screaming at him in a whirlwind of sand. The cops follows him and he is but feet away from the hospital. In a spine-chilling, jaw-dropping, tear-jerking moment Sandman is shot by the cops with the special sand-destroying gun. This causes him to drop Penny ultimately killing her. Spider-Man watches as this scene goes on. Sandman then looses his temper and then turns into the sand monster he has deprived himself of all these weeks. Sandman takes out the cops in all his rage. About this time Kraven arrives to have his last hunt on Spider-Man. After the cops are dead, Flint leaves.
Kraven's Last Hunt ensues as he fights Spidey at the graveyard. During the fight Kraven throws the beaten up Spidey into a tombstone which turns out to be Uncle Ben's. The tombstone is broken. The pain eventually causes Spidey to fall unconscious with the next blow given to him by Kraven. The mutation has almost reached it's end and it's about to kill him. Kraven then buries Spider-Man in the graveyard. Kraven then goes to Connors and tells him that he's buried him alive in the graveyard, then he commits suicide. Connors then finishes another cure. He runs to the graveyard, digs up Spidey's grave and injects him. Spider-Man lives!
Peter Parker tries to comfort Flint, but can't do it. Penny is dead. Flint tells Peter that even though the only force keeping him from doing wrong (Penny) is gone, he's going to face justice. Flint then leaves to turn himself in.
As a finale, Peter and Aunt May have a talk about engagement. Peter is ready to get engaged. Aunt May gives him her ring. Peter then goes to MJ's apartment and asks her for her hand in marriage. MJ accepts.
For the first time since 2004 we witness a final swing. Spider-Man swings through the city, with MJ in his arms (typical golden atmosphere, poster look). His stop it at the top of the Empire State Building where Spider-Man removes his mask and the two kiss. Fade out.
