Horror A "Wolfman" Reboot Already Underway

"Wanna woof?" - Ryan The Wolf Gosling

"...................................................................... I howl."

The only female love interest acceptable now.

Please Universal, do practical FX with digital assist.

The contrast between the CG and the awesome practical FX was painful in the last film.

Maybe this will get Gosling to resurrect Dead Man's Bones.

Anyone else noticed the thread title is "A Wolfman Reboot Already Underway..." was from nine years ago? So much for already on the way. :funny:

Still, maybe this will be good. Universal at least dropped their Dark Universe to free it from getting entangled in meandering threads to other movies that don't even exist yet.

I can’t see Gosling being up for being in a motion capture suit. Seems like a makeup guy to me.
That's what I'm thinking as well but I also don't know how they'd top past werewolf makeup in films like American Werewolf in London (still holds up after almost 40 years) or even the 2010 Wolfman. Rick Baker is retired and he can't be outdone. We've peaked in the werewolf makeup department.

What they'll probably end up doing is a CGI/practical makeup composite. Gives Gosling something to act with while at the same time not restricting his performance much.

YAAAAAASS! Love Leigh.

Oh man, loved both of Whannells movies so far so this has just shot right up my anticipation list.

Exciting news!

Whannell going from Insidious: Chapter 3 to Upgrade to The Invisible Man is amazing. Makes a bit sad he waited so long to make the leap to directing, but I'm glad he finally did. I think he's a much better director than his former creative partner James Wan. And I love Wan.

I wonder what enticed Whannell. The report makes it seem like he was reluctant, so something must have convinced him. I wonder if it was a story aspect or just the chance to work with Gosling.

Excellent news! Benedict Hardie is going to stay busy as well.

Love Leigh, but at the same time, I'm not a fan of just using the same directors. Leigh Whannell is so good though that I don't care!

Yeah, Whannel has earned the cred. But on the other hand, I hope he has a genuinely exciting vision and was hired because he had the best one, not just because Invisible Man was a success.
