I wonder if the Wolfman will be CGI or makeup?
If they use the motion capture tech seen in Planet of the Apes, then I would prefer CGI.
The only female love interest acceptable now.
I honestly liked Benicio Del Toro’s wolfman... But then again I liked Ang Lee’s Hulk as well..
Rightfully so, after that one!
Please Universal, do practical FX with digital assist.
The contrast between the CG and the awesome practical FX was painful in the last film.
Maybe this will get Gosling to resurrect Dead Man's Bones.
I liked that they didn't use too much cgi in the 2010 remake. He looked similar to the original:
Anyone else noticed the thread title is "A Wolfman Reboot Already Underway..." was from nine years ago? So much for already on the way.
Still, maybe this will be good. Universal at least dropped their Dark Universe to free it from getting entangled in meandering threads to other movies that don't even exist yet.
I can’t see Gosling being up for being in a motion capture suit. Seems like a makeup guy to me.
That's what I'm thinking as well but I also don't know how they'd top past werewolf makeup in films like American Werewolf in London (still holds up after almost 40 years) or even the 2010 Wolfman. Rick Baker is retired and he can't be outdone. We've peaked in the werewolf makeup department.
What they'll probably end up doing is a CGI/practical makeup composite. Gives Gosling something to act with while at the same time not restricting his performance much.
