Wasn't Smith hired to create the series for the publisher based on her own or someone else's outline? It's too bad she got canned but it's not like they were ever her property to begin with.

Either way, it just goes to show you...read the fine damn print. Everyone's out there for themselves, so you have to be one step ahead of everyone else or you WILL NOT SURVIVE in Hollywood.

DS hit the nail on the head. She admits that she had no idea what 'for hire' meant. If you're not sure of what you're signing, don't sign it.
