I thought he was fine in godzilla , he was stoic military guy lol, I thought he was miscast though. I loved the movie, but I'm a big g fan.

I saw Godzilla and ATJ wasn't as bad as as I had read. I was surprised to hear he used the same sort of America accent as Kick-ass and not a more stoic one since he was supposed to be military. It'll be interesting to hear the accent for QS.

ATJ just better be the biggest *****e Whedon has ever written. If Evan Peter's QS surpasses him in that department then we know something is amiss.

Im not worried at all about AOU, I think itll be better than every super hero movie we've ever seen and ATJ will deliver a solid QS. Who cares about XMen? Avengers 1 was better than all of those combined.

It was not better than X2 imo but to each his own. Also people are going to compare when two movies are adapting the same character. It happens no need to trivialize a good portrayal of the character.

Yeah, I don't like when comparisons are used to put one of them down. The way I see it the better DOFP Quicksilver's action looks (and most reports have him as a showstopper), the more potential for ATJ's version.

I'd bet that ATJ will have the better written role, but I'm glad QS is getting some praise in DoFP. I personally love the NY Dolls look.

I have a feeling people will hate Whedon's QS for the fact that he's a *****e (if that's going to be the case). His performance is all up to how people compare him to Evan Peters; who btw, does NOT look to be representing Pietro in DOFP, both personality and appearance-wise at all.

I've read that although Quicksilver is a scene-stealer in DOFP, the character is nothing like his comic counterpart. Here's hoping that ATJ's version is more faithful.

His character seems to be based on the X-Men: EVO version which I'm totally fine with. I agree though that it would be nice for a more comic accurate QS in AOU.

Isn't it cool how ATJ played Kick-Ass in Kick-Ass, who didn't have any superpowers, and now he's playing Quicksilver in The Avengers 2? And I think the guy who played Kick-Ass' friend in Kick-Ass is now playing Quicksilver in DOFP? And when Kick-Ass' friend tried becoming a superhero, he chose the name Ass-Kicker. So they both came from Kick-Ass, and now they're both playing Quicksilver. Should have some interesting conversations on the set of Kick-Ass 3.

I wish Chloe Grace Moretz had a role in the MCU. She's awesome, but I ain't sure what she could play.

and once again, my main concern for the AoU vs. DOFP debate is how they display his powers in Avengers
The super-high-speed cam setup looks great on DOFP, so its a shame Marvel won't be able to do that without looking like they're copying
Instead we'll prob just get a blur most of the time, but hopefully at least involved in some creatively done action scenes

Anybody have any cool ideas for how to use his power in fun and creative ways??

I know Joss is a longtime fan of QS, so hes had decades to think up ways to use him in a movie. Im pretty sure he'll make him really cool visually and character wise.

They did recast Peters' character, but that character still became Ass-Kicker. Clark Duke's character became Battle Guy.

They've been filming for months and have been in pre-production for over a year. I doubt they'll change the way that they planned to display his power even if DOFP has done it the same way.

The main difference will be in the characters. DOFP QS has been described as laid back. AOU QS will probably be the comic QS - an abrasive condescending *****e or at least I hope so.

The FOX version of "Peter" Maximoff has been powered to such a great degree that the character appears to be much more like the Flash than the Marvel comic version. While this didn't cause a problem for Singer - his version was a one-off character that kicked ass and went away - the Avengers version is going to have to stick around and presumably battle against the likes of Cap and Iron Man. I'm not sure the Hulk himself would be a match against Singer's Peter (sorry!).

I saw the movie, and it was fun and exciting, but it looks like you are either trying to troll, or you have some agenda.

Yes he was a fun scene stealer, but he's barely in the movie, and a plot device. There's a bit of an easter egg that the fans will get, but will probably be lost on the general audience.

Bullet time type of effects are nothing new, there wasn't anything really inventive about it. It was fun, the character was funny and his cocky attitude is certainly a scene stealer.

It's clear from the scene at the end of Cap, Joss is going for a darker, edgier story where Magneto will likely be replaced by Baron Struker as they will start out as evil and become good.

QS in DOFP is a fun character, but bears little resemblance to the comic QS. As someone said on the DOFP forums, he is X-men Evolutions QS.

Does offer the question of how the Avengers are suppose to stop him. To fast to hit with Cap's shield, Tony probably can't get a lock on him, not much Thor could do, it'll just make Hulk angrier, Widow doesn't have much to add.

Only way I figure is if Hawkeye pulls some crazy 'lead' with his arrow, which he has done time and time again. Those Chitauri ships move really fast, not as fast as QS perhaps, but Hawk's ability to hit those things was pretty great.

As for SW, I don't know how her power works. I know it's about probability, but what does that mean? Cap's shield has a 84% chance to ricochet and hit her, so she makes it have a 10% chance to hit her? Is that the gist of it?
