So with the major additions being the Maximoffs and Ultron, we have more more more than enough issues to countdown with 637 days remaining. I'll start with the Maximoffs, go into their individual history, then move onto issues and stories featuring Ultron.

Okay, let's do this. B.A.U. = Before Age of Ultron

637 B.A.U.

And we start with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver fist joining the Avengers! I would have covered their first appearance in general but it seemed wrong to start off an Avengers countdown with an X-Men issue. Will start from the beginning from tomorrow onward.

First appearance of the twins under Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Pretty much every guy is hitting on Scarlet Witch. Classic Stan the Man misogyny.

The twins really have a bad relationship with everyone in the brotherhood. Sucks they feel obligated to repay Magneto.

Mags trying to recruit Namor...and the twins finally starting to reach the breaking point with his evil ways.

Scarlet Witch finally boils over...probably mostly because she's sick of Mastermind proposing to her.

Brotherhood guest stars in Thor's Journey Into Mystery.

The twins go to the FF for advice on Magneto. Of course it doesn't go well since they're known criminals at this point..

And the twins finally get enough of Magneto's evil and leave, going back to their own country. Avengers #16 takes place right after this issue.

Skipping to Avengers #17 since I started the thread off with issue 16. The "New Avengers" are searching for Hulk to add to their new revamped team...who they don't know has been shot up in space already.

In this issue we learn that Quicksilver wants to be in a circus, Scarlet Witch wants to be an actress, and Cap desperately wants to join SHIELD to have a life of his own. And we get to see Hawkeye's dynamic in the the team really shine...all before they go on to face the villain of the story in another country.

It's great how these old issues did so much in the span of just 20 pages. Writers these days could learn something from going back and reading this stuff.

Reeaaally loving this stuff. The issue starts off with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch being attacked immediately by the Swordsman while relaxing in Avengers Mansion. Swordsman wants to be a member of the Avengers so he can do whatever he wants with an Avengers card. But he's rejected after attacking the mansion and being beaten. He gets a hold of Cap's letter to Fury and uses that to lure him into a trap. So much happening in ways you wouldn't expect in just 21 pages.

Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch team up to save Cap and it ends in the Mandarin getting involved and Iron Man showing back up. That came out of nowhere. I wonder if this tied into some Iron Man issues?

Just about everyone is getting sick of Hawkeye's hotheadedness, he's worse than Quicksilver.
