The link is to an excellent segment talking about all the summer big boys. It starts with Indy then talks Dark Knight (Heath Ledger Oscar buzz?) then moves to Iron Man. The critic states he has seen it and he loves it. He raves about the cast and even alluded to Robert Downey being award ready for the role. The segment ends with a little Hulk talk.

Cool, Peter Traverse loved the film. First big time film critic to give it a positive review. :woot:

I can see Heath getting a supporting Oscar nomination and possibly winning.

He likes the idea of Norton being cast as Banner, but doesn't know what to think about the movie yet.

But he "can't wait to find out" and neither can I. Hulk may not be getting Iron Man buzz but that should change after the trailer attached to Iron Man and the advertising kicks in.

Calling Robert Downey's Stark "spectacular" confirms what we've been hearing from other critics as well.

I'm very happy to hear the good reveiw, I was one of the few who supported the Downey Casting back when it was first announced, you can't deny his acting ability and his desire to get the role.

If Pete Travers loved it, Ill love too. The "Burtons first Batman" comparison seems to fit well.

That is awesome. I love RDJ and I hope he does get some awards for this film.

I sure hope so, I really want this movie to succeed and spawn a sh** load of sequals.

After Iron Man hits, they better bombard the country with advertising and more of those preview clips where Fiege is saying this is going to be different from '03 Hulk with more action.

Peter Traverse is a very credible film critic. If he likes it, then I think it will probably be a good movie.

Well Downey was living part of the role for years, the hard partying millionaire.

Seems like this is too good to be true... again I am not expecting Batman Begins or anything... but I think it can be on par with a Spiderman or SR at least critically with a lot more action of course.

I'm expecting Spider-Man-esque reviews for Iron Man. It's a big summer blockbuster with loads of fun and heart.

All of those movies looked good except Speed Racer.

RDJ being attached to this movie changed me from being skeptical to being completely interested. He's always good, and hopefully after being in a movie that a large audience actually watches, he'll get the respect he deserves.

Getting RDJ for the roll just shows the creativity and the savvy of the Favreau and the casting director. While he didn't get a complete unkown, he got someone who could become the character. If they cast Tom Cruise, you'd just think of it as the latest Tom Cruise movie, just like when Stallone played Judge Dredd, it wasn't so much that he was wrong for the part, but it just became another Stallone movie and easily dismissed.

I'm very glad to hear that Peter Traverse likes Iron Man, he's a very good critic, very credible. I am very pumped for the movie.
