ABC remaking "Charlie's Angels"

I like Minka Kelly, but she was bad in her role. I just dont buy her as a tough, ex con, criminal And the other 2 werent that interesting either. Also they had no chemistry. Overall the show just wasnt that interesting as a whole.

Probably wont watch another episode

So I tried watching this last night, and found it awful. I stopped after 15 minutes, shortly after Minka Kelly arrived on the scene and the helicopter shot at the boat. The episode was boring, and all the acting was extremely wooden. The actresses have no charisma, and even Victor Garber's voiceover isn't that great. The actresses don't seem to have much chemistry together and everything feels like a cheap show with a daytime soap opera feel (particularly the acting).

I won't be watching this, and hope it gets axed quickly.

I couldn't sit through it. But then, I didn't really try. I'm probably not the target demographic.

I did however love the attack helicopter scene. "Okay, they're probably dead, let's get out of here". They care enough to buy / rent a helicopter, but don't care enough to make sure they got their targets.

I would be surprised if this show lasts a season.

This is on tomorrow night in Australia. I'll give it a shot.

Since the critics hate it, there's a good chance I'll like it. :woot:

This wasn't as bad as some have been making it out to be. The being said, it wasn't very good either. I'm ambivalent. If it stays, it's not something I'm going to tune in for every week, but I'll probably catch it if nothing else is on. If it goes, I won't be too broken up about it.

I've yet to have a chance to sit down and watch it, but everything I've heard about it is that it's straight up mediocre. Not great, not terrible, just middle of the road, just there. And the ratings reflect that as well.

Lets just hope it gets better. But I dont know why they would think "it would be so great and original to form a team of former criminals and have Charlie recruit them so they can redeem themselves!" I dont need 3 Angels and a Bosley to all have been former criminals. The killing of an Angel in the first episode was interesting but of course it was ruined since we already knew who our main cast was.

I thought it was really boring, but watched the whole thing to see if anything would change.

See I think Minka was the weakest link of this pilot. I prefer the other two angels.
IA. Minka is cute but her acting wasnt good at all. I liked the other two angels

Totally didnt see that other girl being killed off. I thought for sure she'd be like a double agent and betray them

Guys, the actors are hardly at fault here. It's the writing. The dialogue was just downright shoddy. If what was on the page was better, I really believe the performances would've been stronger.

But some actors, even with poor dialogue, can make it work with their delivery of the material, and can even add more to the scene through their charisma and persoanlity. I didn't think any of these actresses had any charisma. They all sounded extremely wooden and bland.

This almost seems more like an updated version of She Spies than Charlie's Angels. It seems like some crap that you wouldn't pay any attention to if it weren't called Charlie's Angels.

That's rarely ever the case. :o

You're exactly right Sawyer. It's hard to give a good performance when your line is "I didn't know my heart could hurt like this." You are also right Dark Raven but the actors who can do that are extremely rare.

You know it wouldve been somewhat interesting if they had Drews character Dylan from the movies as part of the team in place of Gloria and have her killed off.

Well it's true the show had extremely bad dialogue, but the actors didn't help it either. They were terrible. But even when there was no dialogue, they exuded no charisma whatsoever. This was more like one of these crappy late night TV movies.

Anyone know if Victor Garber did actually dub his lines either on the day or the night before? I didn't think he was great as Charlie either.

I think the original angels and Cheryl Ladd were far more charismatic and personable.

Ya I was not impressed with Victors Charlie at all. He just didnt flow.

And thats the problem with this cast, they dont have that charsima the original angels had.

I spent the first few minutes thinking "That's not Minka Kelly"......It was an odd choice to start by killing off an Angel, that was the sort of impact they could have used down the line for a big arc.

The story wasn't bad but the acting was pretty poor from everyone, Carlos was decent though and I was surprised they allowed the scene with him interrogating Eve.

That's a fair point, take the excruciating scene between Abby and Kate after Gloria's car blew up, Meryl Streep and Glen Close couldn't have done anything with that dialogue exchange.

Speaking of those two, they should team with Helen Mirren and make a new, hipper movie version of Charlie's Angels. :D

^This. It was just

Thats a cop out. There are such things as poor actors and Minka was easily the weakest of the bunch. All the characters dealt with the writing and she's the only angel I had an issue with. Good thing she's hot so thats at least something to look at but she was subpar when it came to the acting and coming across beleivable

I just don't believe in singling any of the actors out. I'm not saying any of them are exactly masters of their craft, but if anything, they're all on the same level here and the writing isn't helping.

It's just hard for me to agree that Minka was the weakest of the bunch, when Annie was as dull as ten day old dishwater and Rachael Taylor, arguably the best of the three, came across as really awkward in her role.

are there several beach/bikini scenes? Hopefully this will be a regular feature..

They were all bad, and not actresses or characters I care to follow on a weekly basis. No, scratch weekly. I couldn't even follow them for more than 15 minutes they were that painful to watch.

The pilot was terrible, but if they had given us some T&A, it might have been worth watching.

I disagree. You can find bikini videos or more anywhere else on the internet. Why torture yourself and have to sit through this series just to see that when you can just watch it without working for it?
