The votes are in and the poll is up! It's been an excellent year for action sequences so I expected more nomination posts, but here we go anyway! :D

I voted for the church scene from Kingsman: The Secret Service. I loved that film and the church scene was just amazing!

I voted for the Jurassic World fight because it's the most unique of the films released this year...

To rank the ones on the list:
1. Rey vs. Kylo Ren Lightsaber Duel - The Force Awakens
2. Canyon Sequence - Mad Max: Fury Road
3. The Falcon escape's from Jakku - The Force Awakens
4. Storm Chase - Mad Max: Fury Road
5. Car/Bike chase - Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
6. Church scene- Kingsman
[big gap]
7. Hulk vs Hulkbuster - Age of Ultron
8. T-Rex and Blue vs. Indominus Rex - Jurassic World

The Rey vs. Kylo Ren Lightsaber Duel was so good it made me feel things.

Damn!

The Revenant did not get in.

It is my favorite action movie of the year, even ahead of Fury Road.

Since the opening raid from The Revenant never made it, nor did the border shoot-out from Sicario... :csad:

I will have to vote for - Storm Chase - Mad Max: Fury Road

Tough ones. Haven't seen half, though. I put the Jurassic World final fight.

It was tough to choose between the Rogue Nation Bike/Car chase and the Canyon sequence, so Mad Max got my vote for backing that sequence up with a whole movie's worth of sequences on or nearly on that level.

Some notable/honorable mentions.

Border Battle - Sicario
Mountain Sequence - Furious 7
Yellowjacket vs Ant-Man - Ant-Man

It's not the most elaborate action sequence in the movie, but my favorite is the canyon battle in Mad Max: Fury Road.

It's got a great old-school Western "raiding the stagecoach" vibe to it, and it works character development organically into the action, with the teamwork between Max and Furiosa and them really working together for the first time and pointing guns at people besides each other.

Someone compared it to FR's equivalent of a love scene :woot:

Really tough choice this, will have to give it some thought, it's basically every action scene I listed in the nominations thread!

That's exactly what it reminded me of, the raiders on the bikes attacking the War Rig were like the Apache's attacking the Stage Coach.

It is also the winning sequence! :D Impressive stuff given the movie came out way back in May, I was sure the Rey vs Kylo Ren duel would win, goes to show how much Fury Road has stuck with people.
