More suggestions that the PS3 is more powerful than the 360. We all knew the PS3 had the slight edge, and no doubt with time the best looking PS3 games will have a slight edge graphically over the best looking 360 games.

For now, the 360 still has the best looking games. The PS3 will catch up and surpass within a year.

You mean... 1080p games will loook better than 720p/1080i games? You don't say!

Also, those are bold claims that you are taking and turning into guarantees, based off a couple posts on an internet forum. One year from now, please remember you posted this, so we can compare.

Given the consoles are so close in terms of power, it's not that much of a stretch to think a better looking game might be developed on the PS3 in the near future.

Ignoring all the wrong in that post, it is a stretch to think that a better looking game might be developed on the PS3 in the near future because of shaders, something even early xbox games featured.

I never mentioned shaders. I mentioned the fact the consoles where close in terms of power, something which is pretty widely accepted.

The thread was about PS3 games looking better than 360 games according to Activison. Therefore, talking about how PS3 games may gain a graphical edge in the future wasn't off-topic at all. The topic was about PS3 games looking better. Shaders were just one justification used.

So the first post, the post that determines the direction of the thread, isn't about a guy who was invited to Activision to view their games, Ultimate Alliance in particuliar? And that guy didn't specifically mention shaders as the reason it looks better? Wow. Once again, the bar on the internet has just been lowered. You know, occasionally, it's ok to be wrong in a real life conversation. It's in real time, so you don't always have the time to think, and you also don't always have the information you need right in front of you. The internet is an entirely different story. The information you needed to view to be correct (the first post, something you should view by default before posting to threads for future reference by the way, no need to thank me) was but a mere click away, and you had all the time in the world. And yet, still wrong. Baffling

No, I'll agree with you there. I don't expect PS3 games to look better than 360 games across the board. Just that at some point the PS3 will have a game that looks better than any 360 game before. The two systems will probably alternate between which has the better looking game a few years down the line.

Really who cares? I think we've reached a point where graphics hardly matter. I could care less how much further PS3 is along than the 360. I want a PS3 because of the gameplay and titles. PS2 was factually the WEAKEST of the three systems last generation, but it surely was the best in terms of gaming and the library.

People forget that average persons and gamers seem to tend not to care which is the absolute best but which offers the absolute best gameplay. ****, Nintendo is set to outsell PS3 this Christmas over that fact and Microsoft is going to be ramrodding PS3 for the first 6 months as much as possible over this until PS3 gts its act together though.
