Actors Who Inexplicably Disappeared

Yea I was gonna say Val Kilmer isn’t in good shape and can barely talk. He was dubbed over in The Snowman.

Yeah, Val Kilmer’s health has been rough for the past decade.

He had a pretty good career in the 90s. But was labelled difficult to work with so I think that caught up to him and his roles dried up by the 00s. His last real standout was Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang.

Pretty good recent article about his career.

Wow, so glad that others are onto the Michael Biehn issue! I've always referred to him as one of the 80s great " nearly men" as in he nearly made it to A list acting roles....but somehow didn't.

What went wrong ? Some bad film choices maybe ? Did he piss off people in the industry ? I'm really surprised we didn't see him in Avatar , with other James Cameron alumni.

Anyway, I've always kind of felt sorry for him.

Michael Biehn was/is awesome. His standoff scene with Ed Harris in The Rock is totally boss.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Orlando Jones. He was funny in some movies but I think his film choices (or, more likely, the films he was offered) kinda killed his momentum. No one should have signed onto that awful Time Machine movie. I think Guy Pearce had a shot to be a mainstream leading man until that movie ruined it. But he’s done well in smaller stuff (which is maybe what he wanted to do anyway).

Guy Pearce does fine. I think he's more a character actor anyway.

Oh totally, I just think that maybe his career might have been even bigger if Time Machine hadn’t been such a turd. But I wasn’t suggesting he disappeared like Jones and some of these other actors.

Lest we forget Guy Pierce was “The Mandarin”. (Excuse me while I go take a shower. I feel gross having typed that statement.)

But the guy is an incredible actor.

I usually like Pearce, but I really can't even remember almost anything about him in that movie except he starts out kinda looking like pre-Riddler Jim Carrey in Batman Forever for no reason.

Yeah, you’d think that that superhero movies would abandon the whole “leftover from Revenge of the Nerds gets infected with something and turns evil” plot after multiple bad examples (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Amazing Spider-Man 2, Iron Man 3), but they keep recycling it. Here’s to hoping Wonder Woman 1984 isn’t falling into that same trap with Cheetah, though I fear it might.

Now for a memorable Guy Pearce villain, there's his vile character in Lawless

I think the last thing I saw him in was Evolution, which was poised to be the next Ghostbusters but kinda just crashed and burned.

Whatever happened to Chris Tucker?
He's like Dave Chappelle in that he pops up every now and then in a place you'd never expect to see him (Tucker in Silver Linings Playbook, Chappelle in A Star is Born). Both are more focused on their standup careers than acting these days, with Tucker being a little more under the radar.

That was a phenomenal performance. When he beats Shia to a pulp was ****ing painful to watch. And then that scene (I think it may be the one in the gif) a woman is sitting on the bed behind him looking terrified just gave me the creeps.

The gif's not from that scene, but yea........also if you watch that scene carefully, she's naked, crying, and she's sitting on a newspaper spread out under her on the bed......makes me think she was bleeding from whatever he just did to her sexually.

Yeah, I remember that and I agree that’s very likely what the scene implies. God, he was such a repulsive character in that movie.

Yup. And when he takes Dane DeHaan out in the woods and murders him. Definitely a sadist and a psychopath.

Pamela Hensley, who starred as Princess Ardala in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and as CJ Parsons in Matt Houston.

After Matt Houston ended in 1985, she suddenly stopped acting and never appeared in anything again.

He hasn't exactly disappeared, but back in the early to mid 00s, Orlando Jones would appear in a lot of movies. People were saying that he'd probably be the next Eddie Murphy. Nowadays he does mostly TV roles and hardly any movies. In fact, the last movie he was in came out four years ago.

Anyone who said that was smoking crack rocks. Dude was never going to be as huge as Eddie Murphy, and it's hard to believe anyone would say that lol

He was good in this!

Saw this the other day. Had some issues with the movie overall but JGL was excellent in it.

Just watched this. I felt like it stays in the air (har har) for about an hour, but then can't quite stick the landing (har har). JGL and Omid Memar are good together in the third act, but it kind of drags on too long and the resolution felt kind of abrupt and unsatisfying.

JGL was good though.
