^^Complete jibberish. As I said, Ren looks nothing like his parents. It's casting 101. Find someone with a vague, passing resemblance, then we'll move on.

Are you truly upset because Driver doesn't look like Ford for Fisher? Have you complained about the rest of the family tree not resembling each other?

The problem is both with his look (he is totally non-Solo physically) and his behaviour. He is supposed to be the serious villain while now he got his ass kicked. I got the point about the injury but it was badly played - it should have been more emphasised. On one hand he throws Rey like a doll while one minute later he is so badly beaten...

Indeed... The only thing they have going for them is that Rey kinda looks like Padme. And I guess that Anakin and Luke have similarly coloured hair.

Not to make things too weird but Rey kind of looks like kid Anakin too.

I'm expecting him to fall back to the light at some point in episode 9, but I'm trying to think what could push him over the edge. i don't want to see a rehash of rey as luke getting fried by palpatine (snoke in this instance) nor anything to do with leia (leave that woman alone) maybe there's another solo/skywalker out there kept hidden by snoke who's going to try to posses his body at some point or whatever.

Yeah i also think that at one point in the trilogy he's gonna try and redeem the actions he's caused and join the light side.

He may turn back to the light but I don't think he's making out alive by 9.

One part of the duel I thought was really interesting was him periodically punching his wound to draw strength from the pain. A crazy move that shows how unbalanced this kid really is. Can't see Vader ever doing that...

Driver was great in the scenes he was in. Him and Daisy really stole the movie for me.

Loved the scenes featuring the two of them.

My thoughts too, he's done too many bad things to live. Even if he turns good. He will probably sacrifice himself to save others as his last act or something. Last shot at redemption kind of thing.

I preferred him with the mask on. Speaking of which, did the mask get picked up before the planet exploded?

It was never really showed either way. That's open to whatever they want to show in VIII.

Kylo Ren was incredibly impressive as a villain. I loved his story. Can't wait to see his progression down the dark side.

I like Kylo Ren more then Ben so if he ever turns good, I won't be calling him Ben Solo

Well, with the way he completely idolizes his grandfather and seemingly despises his own father ("weak and foolish"), I can't see Kylo calling himself Solo. I'm fairly certain he sees himself as a Skywalker and nothing else. If he ever turns, I'm guessing he'd let people call him Ben Skywalker.

Now he'll have a good reason to use it with that nasty gash across his face.

By the way, Rey destroyed his lightsaber, right? Wonder what he'll be wielding in Episode VIII. Would it be possible that Kylo gets his hands on Darth Vader's old saber (the red one)? It could be a very powerful moment when Kylo and Rey face off with both wielding an old lightsaber of Anakin/Vader, symbolizing the lasting struggle within the Skywalker bloodline (assuming Rey turns out to be Luke's daughter).

I wonder if he'll have the mask in Episode VIII, or if he'll have a different mask. I assume the one he wore this time was destroyed because he didn't pick it up off the bridge and I doubt he would have been able to go back and retrieve it before escaping the planet.

I kinda hope he has a new mask. The one in TFA was cool but it could be improved upon. I really didn't like the Vader-esque shape to the back of the helmet. It looks much cooler when his hood is up.

Did we watch the same movie? He wasn't only injured, he was and is emotionally unhinged. He has very little control of what he was doing during that fight because of all the turmoil drumming inside him. It's like a star athlete going onto the field and playing at 50% of their ability because of everything else going on in his life. Only, this is different because of the details and reasons that affect Kylo.

I mean, even Snoke is fully aware the boy needs to smarten up. That's why he needs to "complete his training". Training as a Jedi or Sith or whatever Force user one is, doesn't just mean how to throw things and swing a blade. It also includes how to control your thoughts and emotions - which is EXACTLY what Rey did and why she was able to beat Kylo at the end of their duel without even being trained on how to use a lightsaber.

The fact that he got shot by a gun they built up the entire movie moments before...
The fact that they showed him bleeding so bad blood was dropping and puddling below him...
The fact that he kept pounding his chest to overcome his injuries and pain...

I know what you mean. They totally dropped the ball on showing him injured.

The reason why Rey beat Kylo was because Kylo wasn't fully trained. Remember Snoke said to bring Kylo back to him, so that he could complete his training...

While that may be part of it Golgo, the true reason for me at least is that the force quite clearly picked sides during that duel. She essentially became an outlet in which the force choose to show itself in.

I mentioned in another thread that the force more than ever in this film acts as a sentient character.

Yeah, I mean, the title is "The Force Awakens", so in contrast to previous films where it was just sort of this thing certain people could tap into, here it appears to be taking a more proactive role. For example, in Star Wars, when Luke first picks up his father's lightsaber, nothing happens. But here, when Rey picks up Luke's lightsaber, she gets hit with a bunch of flashbacks and visions.
