Jesus, Bale is gonna kill himself with all that weight stuff one of these days

If anyone still doubts how much credit makeup artists deserve, in the same year we’ve got Gary Oldman looking like Churchill and Bale looking like Cheney.

If this is a good movie then Hair & Makeup Oscar is a serious contender.

Bale looks great (not healthy, though) but the wig is a little obvious on Amy Adams.

Cue somebody telling me it's not a wig.

It's a wig and they're filming the younger years here. Wedding scene with these pics.

The real Lynne is like this

There's more set pics of them on the last 2 pages.

They're apparently filming this rally scene in 1978, which was Dick's first Congressional run.

Honestly these two are going all in. Kudos to them and the Costume and Makeup department. Outstanding!

The great thing is Mckay seem to be filming scenes way out of order. We're seeing the Cheney's in one set pic in the 60's and the next one in the 00's. One in the 70's and the following one in the 90's.

Set pics from yesterday but this time it's the Amy and Christian and the Cheney kids involved in horse riding and fishing scenes.

Alfred Molina revealed on Maltin on Movies podcast that he has a cameo in the movie.

But he didn't say who he was playing.

Nice, you got a link to it mate?

Also he could be anybody with the way Mckay has been casting this movie lol. Maybe Osama bin Laden? :funny:

These weird casting choices are strangely paying off. I’m curious to see Rockwell as Dubya now.

Sam Rockwell describes the movie as in the vein of The Big Short and Woody Allen meets Goodfellas.

https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/sam-roc...len-meets-goodfellas-exclusive-144517067.html

Fresh off the back of his success at the Golden Globes, where he won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (in UK cinemas now) – Sam Rockwell can soon be found portraying one of the most intriguing characters he’s faced in his eclectic career; President George W. Bush.
Taking a starring role in Adam McKay’s Backseat, which tells the story of Dick Cheney (Christian Bale), Rockwell will play the 43rd President of the United States.

In the current political climate Bush’s reign from 2001-2009 feels like something of a pleasant dream, and Rockwell told Yahoo Movies exclusively that he finds Bush to actually be rather charming during the promotional tour for Martin McDonagh’s black comedy.
“He [Bush] was very charming, a real people person and very socially smart in a way,” Rockwell said.

“He knew people, he was very good with people, whereas this other guy [Trump], maybe not so much. I’ve been watching a lot of George Bush on the internet, and I find him charming, and very likeable. A very likeable guy.”

Given the man at the helm, we also asked Rockwell about the tone of the forthcoming production, wondering whether McKay is likely to revert back to his more overt comedic style displayed in the likes of Step Brothers, or whether he’ll continue down the dramatic path following the success of Oscar-winner The Big Short.
“It’s in the same vein as The Big Short, it’s a comedy/drama,”

Rockwell stated. “It’s like Woody Allen meets Goodfellas, it’s a really cool script.”
Needless to say, we’re excited about seeing the finished product, and with the title now in post-production, here’s hoping we don’t have too long to wait.
“Yeah it’s been really fun, especially working with Bale and Amy Adams and Adam McKay,” Rockwell finished with a smile.

Sam was also on Kimmel this week and talked about playing Bush, even did a little voice

My God it's gonna be two Oscar seasons in the row *faints*

I don't know if I can sit through this. Even if it portrays Cheney and his cronies in a completely negative light (which it should, but it will probably also try to humanize him or attempt to make the Bush years humorous), I just don't know if I want to sit down and spend two hours watching a movie about these despicable people. Bush and Cheney were horrible for this country and the world. And whether they want to admit it or not, Trump is their legacy. He likely never would have become president if a third of the country wasn't already comfortable with having an idiot in the White House. Additionally, suspicious way in which Bush won the presidency felt like just testing the waters for what happened in the 2016 election with Russian interference. I saw Bush speak at an event a few years ago and it's amazing how the guy literally has no clue how toxic he was for the U.S. He thinks it's all a big joke, as if his ****-ups didn't have any consequences. And they didn't... for him.

What I'm saying is, the wounds are still really fresh and even though Bale, Adams and all these people are great actors, I don't know if I can stomach this right now. Anyone else feel this way?
