AFI: Spider-Man 3

I'm sure a lot of people are discussing the bands that can do the theme song for SM3 or what songs that could be it. But I think that AFI should do the theme song.

Listen to the song "Killing Lights", I can try to explain how it could relate to SM3:

"Five A.M. on the bathroom floor from the night before.
Do you find me dreadful?
What a shame such a sad disgrace,
Such a pretty face,
But she's not regretful."

When MJ met Venom in the comics she freaked out was hiding and scared and stuff. And most likely MJ will ruin into him in the movie, and probablly at home. So the lyrics would be almost like Brock talking saying "do you find me dreadful" in a sarcastic way.

"It's killing time again.
Put on your face and let's pretend,
These killing lights won't kill us all again."

And the chorus, it would refer to Venom and Sandman or Gobby. Because you put on your "face" your mask...and go out "to kill". A figurative mask or the actual masks they wear.

They would probablly just make a new song for the movie, but I think they should be the ones to do it.

i think Killing Lights or the acoustic version of Missing Frame ("One at a time suicides are revealed" etc) are good songs for a theme song for spiderman 3.

Whatever your suggestion may be...I've yet to hear either of those AFI songs, its most likely that there will be all new music for the main 'pop-sountrack-theme', and not something from a pre-existing album.

don't know who you guys are talking about, but every time this discussion comes up, it gets flooded with people saying we need death metal songs when Venom is first shown.

That's ridiculous. Rain drops worked nicely for the scene it was used, and I guess Macy Gray's song worked for when it was used in the first one, but other than times like that they should stick with classical. Otherwise it degrades the movie. This is not a teen movie or one of those watch once and forget about movies.

okay....Spider-Bite, AFI is not death metal. It's rock. Maybe there's a better categorey but it's just a sub-section of rock.

Spideyssuperfan, listen, why is it that in every thread there is always someone who steps up to point out the obvious? I've been in this forum long enough to know what threads are around. And anyway, I don't know why random people are listing random band names and songs. This thread was about AFI. The thread you're talking about it about music. In my first post, I made it clear that I was just discussing AFI. And as if you couldn't get that, look at the title. So I don't know what crack some of these people are smoking. Your guess is as good as mine...

My first post was meant as a joke, but I seriousily think The End sets the mood for SM3, seeing as it's a bit darker, I know it's not going to be used for the film, but it was input.
