Infinity War Agent Coulson, Is it Time For the Avengers To Know?

Okay so if he rebuilt SHIELD then I wonder if the new constituted SHIELD then will make an appearance soon in one of the many Marvel films that we have coming? I wonder then if Fury, Hill or Romanoff if they know if Phil is still alive?

Fury and Hill know. Romanoff is a mystery.

He literally serves no purpose and only exists as fanservice. To the general movie-going audience, he's dead. Bringing him back would be pointless.

A huge role would be pointless. A small role would help bridge together Agents Of Shield with the movies. In fact, if that Black Widow movie picks up steam, it's the perfect opportunity for the cast of AOS to make a cameo, especially since it would be a spy movie.

But it'd also lessen the impact of his death in bringing the Avengers together from the first movie.

So little people watch AoS. I guarantee most of the movie-going audience doesn't. Coulson really has no place showing up in Infinity War because there's nothing he brings to the table that someone in the movies doesn't have covered.

I honestly hope they kill Coulson in off in that upcoming ep where they tease a death in the team. I feel him even being alive is holding AoS back from crossing over into the movies (other than **** ratings and differing production schedules).

Coulson just isn't compelling or important enough to bring back all this time later. Sorry but I find him completely overrated as a character when I rewatch Phase 1. In most of his appearances he's just a generic federal agent doing his job. Was he even a fan favorite until they killed him off? I think that martyr situation is what made him popular in the first place.

Maybe he was fun while he lasted and brought the team together, but that was a different era for the MCU. There's a glut of star performers in the franchise now, and he just isn't worth making it even more crowded. I'd rather see Maria Hill get taken off the bench and get to do whatever people want him to do in upcoming films, but even she doesn't seem necessary anymore. We still get to see Coulson on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which has been an underwhelming show, but at least there's something for his fans.

Frankly I wish he stayed dead.

That's what I was saying earlier. I love Clark Gregg, I like the character. I just don't understand the godly level of importance people place on him. You think he'd be the one to bring the Avengers back together after Civil War? Seriously?

Like I said I dont know. But I feel strangely certain this might be the film they reincorperate him and SHIELD fully back into the MCU. I wont have a problem if not tho.

The ratings for AOS are so low now they'd only be bringing down the MCU to try to tie them in.

I can't see Disney caring that much about propping up their TV side to try and integrate them into any movies, they even canned the Inhumans movie.

I think AOS might as well kill off Coulson for good in the show's Series Finale next year.

He's basically done after AOS ends.

It wouldn't be worth the effort to bring him back into the films. The general audience would be too confused, and critics would be annoyed.

I don't think the GA cares, many probably barely remember him. There are so many main and secondary hero characters to keep up with in the MCU that lower ranking agents of (ex)SHIELD who've never had a major role are going to struggle.

Coulson's death played a pivitol role in Avengers, and that was Marvel's biggest film.

Him appearing again would undermine that and just create confusion.

If AOS was a successful series, they'd probably find a way to make a tie-in. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.

You know...I like Coulson. But I think the time to bring him back in the movies has past.

The perfect time wouldve been Winter Soldier to show more about Fury keeping secrets.

But now in terms of story...who cares? Honestly even Fury, Hill, etc. don't really have a point in being in these movies anymore. So why include Coulson. What is he going to bring into the movies?

If they wanted to kill him off they shouldve stuck with it.

I wouldnt be mad if they brought him back, but I just don't see the point

Nah he should remain dead to the rest of the MCUbecause if his "death" is revealed to be fake then it will cheapen the entire narrative of TA.

The Avengers definitely need to know. In fact, they should have known ages ago. The only reason it hasn't happened yet is because of the childish immature rivalry between the movie and TV divisions.

Yes. Would it change much? Probably not, but it's something that's always nagged me.

Most likely not happening.

Evan after that someone still immediately asks him about Agents of SHIELD LOL.

Meh, Coulson isn't that integral to the plot anyways. Then again there is always the possiblity they are lying to keep it a suprise. But that's just a theory...A FILM THE....I'M....I'm sorry.

They meant would AoS not be having any movie tie-in episodes, which was probably a misinterpretation of what Gunn said. They weren't asking if they would cross over into the movies

I understand not seeing the Defenders or anyone from Agents of SHIELD, but Coulson started out int he movie universe. Surely he'd be an exception to that?

He's a bygone remnant of the Phase One days until the show started. His resurrection alone already cheapened his death in The Avengers. What would bringing him back to the films accomplish? Not like the average moviegoer who watches these movies also watches Agents of SHIELD.

He's right. All I really wanted was the Defenders anyways but oh well.

I would accomplish not driving AoS viewers insane. Lol

By now I don't think that's a big concern for Marvel, tbh.

I can't really believe what Gunn or any Marvel workers say. They said Guardians wouldn't be in IW and then....well....um. Now they are.
