The Dark Knight AICN: Costume change happens ON camera?

This is great news. Maybe we'll get something that looks like Batman and not rubber man.

wasn't rubber man one of the bosses in the mega man series? Naw, just wishful thinking on my part ;)

Wow JBElliot, great arguement. But, seriously prove how they can adapt Batman with tights on the bigscreen and make it look good. And, for the love of your god dont say "Dead End".

Sleeker doesn't mean he'll be wearing tights 'ala DEAD END. It probably means a thinner rubber suit or maybe something similar to Spidey's suit(as far as the materal goes) but with armor plating. Yeah, that could work IMO.

Who cares about what exactly the material is as long as it looks like a better version of the Dead End costume, or said another way, looks like the costume in the comics.

Sucks bein' the last post on a page, so...

Off the top of the head...Perhaps, during Bruce's first confronation with the Joker, he gets sprayed w/ Acid and he's actually severely burned/injured etc. (Leading to his first significant physical scarring as Batman ala by the Joker?)

So he needs to modify a new suit to withstand the chemicals?

uh oh, here it comes...:) hey man I pretty much agree with you, but there have been HUGE threads devoted to this topic. I guess it'll just continue here.

anyway- there were some manips that have been done of thinner, almost kevlar looking armor and fabric (not cloth) that looked REALLY awesome.

hopefully one of these dudes will post it. i'm too lazy to go digging...

I don't really think anyone literally wants "tights". More like an armored version of the Superman and Spider-Man movie suits.

But if I'm wrong, then yeah, I wholeheartedly disagree with him.

"better" is a very subjective word. I think the only thing that will look worse than bulky rubber is measly spando-fabric. batman should not look like spiderman or the fantastic four. the man needs armour. as discussed in batman begins (anything but a straight shot).

Here you go mynam, it's pretty simple:

(The idea from Dead End) + (the budget of TDK) = a Batman costume that looks like the costume in the comics with the quality of the Spider-Man movie costume.

No visible armor, just like the comics.

That's the best description I've heard yet. More "heavyweight fabric" and less "clunky rubber". A lot of the arguments regarding the suit material misconstrue what is meant, when people want a more refined costume similar to the comics. Somehow that means cheap cloth you can find in any clothing store.

I know I know. The joke is that we are all talking about the same thing and arguing on how it is worded.

It'll definitely be interesting to see if the new suit will go with his new title. Perhaps a darker may take form, I'm definitely hoping for somewhat longer ears, and a large cape with noticeable scallops.

I think the memory cloth glider cape will stay. I mean that was really cool! It totaly explained the technology behind Batman using his cape to glide like in TAS. Not sure how he does that in the comics though? Personally I like the shorter ears they just need to be thinner and sleaker along with the jaw and neck line.
Nolan and his investors know they have got us hooked so the need to keep to certain conformities such as Batman having a wide jaw is something they can move past now I think. Of course the WB has also learned its lesson and knows what core elements need to be faithfull. There is no contest we won't be dissapointed by this movie.

The rest of your post clearly indicates you are not the type of person I was referring to. :o
I hope you know that wasn't me who wrote this?

But with the idea that there's some sort of protection either by the fabric's own material, or there's some armor under the suit (like the comics)...right? :o

I think we can all agree that batman Begins was one of if not THE best superhero film of all time....

Did the costume kick ass? abso-friggin-lutely

Could it be better or different , less bulky? all who have an imagination can agree on this....

Batman Begins was nolan's first foray into the dark knight's world. We can bet our collective ass that he will learn or improve on anything he maybe didn't fully understand the first time around.

I'm done. (wish me luck, im going to watch 300 now and im hoping for the best but have low expectations)

Glad the new suit is going to be sleeker. As for the suit change during the film as a major plot point? Not sure what this means. Maybe Bruce needs a new suit for something specific in the film? Who knows. At this point, we can only guess. Mybe we'll learn something more later on.

I really want this kevlar tight fitting armor to work, dont get me wrong. I am just very skeptical about protection. Batman is not spiderman or supes he needs some armor. I cant wait to see what they come up with though, good or bad.

He doesn't in the comics, he still uses the grapple. As for the memory cloth, I'm fine with it. I just want it to have some noticeable scallops. The only time you really saw them, is when Batman glides off towards Ra's. In all other cases, it just looked like a big, black towel.

Personally I like the shorter ears they just need to be thinner and sleaker along with the jaw and neck line.
I guess I can be fine with the same sized ears. It just looked really weird with the egg-shaped cowl.

I hope you know that wasn't me who wrote this?
I was talking to Keyser.

Interesting news. Hopefully the 2ndary costume won't be as gimmicky as the ones from BF and B&R. I'm guessing Joker melts the original with acid.

what doesn't make sense is that the man's a billionaire... for ****'s sake, make a suit that is bulletproof, flame resistant, CHEMICAL RESISTANT... surely he could do that

The thing he got in BB was fireproof, knife proof and bullet proof to a degree, but seriously, this was Batman in his infancy. An inpenetrable suit of armour is too much of a contrivance for my liking, especially when he has just started out.

He needs time to build up his armoury. Besides, the beauty of Batman is that he relies more on his physical and mental attributes to avoid harm than on his armour. His suit has to be armoured, yes, but not so much so that he is hardly ever in physical danger. I'm sure he never expected to get acid poured on him. BTW, that is a great reason to make him upgrade his costume. As everyone must have seen, his suit in BB was kindof thrown together. He will evolve hopefully.

^ Exactly. He was still a rookie Batman in Begins, he still has a lot to modify in his skills and armory.

Who gives a cock? As long as we don't get nipples

Although, I do have a feeling that, by the third installment of the series, batman is going to end up something like:
