Am I the only person who doesn't read these things if it's some long quote, song lyric, etc? All I wanna know is where you are and/or what you're doing. It seems to be something only my female friends do; as all my male AIM buddies' away messages are short and to the point.

Is that really much of a shock, you ask some women how their day has been and they tell you about everything from teh moment the opened their eyes.

I usually just have one word messages, quick and to the point.

I started doing the same when people would just message me to chat with no real point. And I don't really chat unless I have something to say. I'm not much for "Hey" "Hey" "What are you doing" "Nothing" "Me neither"

I don't really use AIM anymore, kinda grew out of it. I do hate the "song lyric" quote away messages though, we really don't care that you have feelings for somebody but can't tell them directly. People who use movie/tv quotes get a thumbs up though from me, especially if it's The Simpsons or Family Guy.

I've gotten used to it. I really liked that it saves a log of your conversations with people.

I do mine according to what's going on. For example, if I'm listening to music elsewhere, I have lyrics to "Tricky" by RUN DMC. Some of my better ones are:

• I am a man, and as such, have only two moods: Hungry, and Horny. So, if you see me without an erection, feed me a sammich.
• Peanut butter is not a lubricant.
• "Man, I want a house with enough land that I can go out and take a **** in the middle of the day in my back yard and ain't nobody gonna complain - except my girfriend."
• I'm taking a shower. Yes, that means I'm wet and naked. And yes, SHOWER. A man with one leg is taking a shower.

As to Heath Ledger and the Oscars. A local radio station was doing it's quick little 1 minute news blurb and when they got to Heath winning the Best Support Oscar, the guy said "Heath Ledger won the Male Best Supporting Actor Award, he was unable to accept it in person."

haha. You can now have a hot girl's number and claim she gave it to you.

I have talked to girls on myspace and then they would give me their AIM names....they would have up an away message with their number....

indeed. it's very creepy when someone you don't know calls your phone, even creepier if they explain who they are and claim you gave them your number when you have no recollection of that. Def not a way to score a date
