Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of "Psycho" is an upcoming cinebiography directed by Sacha Gervasi; written by John J. McLaughlin and Stephen Rebello, based on Rebello's book; and produced by the Montecito Picture Company and Fox Searchlight Pictures, that'll also distribuite the movie.
The movie is centered on Hitchcock's relationship with his wife, Alma Reville, during the troubled production of Hitchcock's masterpiece, Psycho.
Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren are playing Hitchcock and Reville, respectively. Scarlett Johansson is playing Janet Leigh, who played Marion Crane in Psycho; Jessica Biel is playing Vera Miles, who played Lila Crane in Psycho; James D'Arcy is playing Anthony Perkins, who played Norman Bates in Psycho; Toni Collette is playing Peggy Robertson, Hitchcock's long-time assistant; Michael Stuhlbarg is playing Hitchcock's charismatic agent, Lew Wasserman; Danny Houston is playing Reville's friend, Whitfield Cook; Kurtwood Smith is playing Geoffrey Shurlock, director of the Motion Picture Production, that defined the movies' ratings before the MPAA; Wallace Langham is playing Saul Bass, Hitchcock's long-time designer and storyboard artist; Ralph Macchio is playing Joe Stefano, who wrote Psycho; and Michael Wincott is playing Ed Gein, the serial killer that Norman Bates is based on.
The movie will begin filming in 2012 for a 2013 release date.
