Has anyone ever seen this? It was a fake documentary UPN aired back in 1998. I have to admit, when I first watched it, it was one of the scariest things I've ever seen. Even for a fake documentary, it is brilliantly done. Blair Witch has nothing on this.

i remember that, that **** scared the hell out of me.:( the part where the dude goe sinto the room and as soon he turns around an alien is behind and you see the camera and the guy are floating.

Wow never heard of it. I will check it out though if I can find it.

I think I remember seeing this back when it first aired on Fox.

IIRC, it was pretty cool, but corny as all hell. :o

The alternate ending from the "newly uncovered footage" is even creepier. After the scene you described, the family is suddenly sitting at the table playing go fish. Then the creepy little girl stands up, opens the door, and lets the aliens in. The only one who reacts however is the boy with the camera, they then zap him and shut off the camera.

I watched it today, and it was scary as hell. Imagine how scary it was when people thougth it was the real deal?

Never saw it, but what you people are saying about it is making me laugh. I'll have to watch it..when it is light outside....

I just got done watching it. There are parts in it where you can tell it's fake. I was still creeped out watching it though. The final scene will keep up till morning.

I've been looking for this movie ever since it first came out, I missed it the first time and I haven't been able to find it since. I just found it on Youtube and I'm creeping the hell out of myself by watching it in the dark :(

The final scene is terrifying. Talk about the pay off that The Blair Witch Project never gave. Even for a fake documentary (though I'm guessing it was meant to be a movie and UPN just wanted to stir up some controversy ratings)...it is brilliantly done. The director deserved a friggin Emmy.

Watch it. Johnny was good enough to post the video. Its helluva creepy.

It reminds me of this movie which is also pretty ****ing creepy:

However did anyone ever see that doc. on the history channel or something, where it was about the guys who one day were camping and they suddenly black out and when they woke up 4 hours had passed by, years later they went to a hypnotist and they discovered all these repressed memories about aliens, that **** was creepy :(

Yep. And Fire in the Sky was scary as hell (although not even close to accurate regarding Walton's claims).

What did you think of Incident At Lake County, Movies? Give your professional review. Not bad for a TV mockumentary on UPN, eh?

At the moment I haven't watched it, it's gotta be longer than a half-hour rite? I'm not working today so when I get back I'll watch it...

About an hour. Definitely give it a watch. Like I said, it is Blair Witch...only semi-creepier (I think a big reason is because it takes place in the home, where you should feel safe and secure). And unlike Blair Witch it has an actual pay off at the end.

It's about an hour and a half long.

Personally, I thought it was pretty corny, but I guess it was all right for what it was. Could've made the aliens look better for one thing. :o

I'm watching it now... I like the camera, they do a decent job making it look like a kid with a camcorder while getting some nicely cropped shots, however the acting is a bit wooden, the family a bit too perfect, but it doesn't really detract, however it does kill the realism a little bit, the fact it some hallmark family, so far it feels like home alone with aliens is the best way to describe it.

I might have seen this, does it end with
the family sitting around a table playing cards with the camera conveniently pointed at them while an alien which looks like it's done on the WORST budget ever comes in, switches off the camera and seemingly abducts the family?

Oh, that is one of the best parts. Keep watching. You'll start to see how imperfect the family really is as the events get worse. It becomes implied that the mother is an alcoholic, and I believe that one of the brother's is abusive to his wife (I could be wrong on that one, its been awhile, but I sort of remember it). It is done in a really subtle, believable way too.

Thats the alternate ending.

The only time they really look bad (because it is the only time we really get a real look at them) is the alternate ending.
