Alien vs. Predator 2 Scheduled for 2007

I dunno. Predator is such a kick ass movie, anything that tries to follow will only fail, as did the second Predator in my mind.

And AVP was such a stupid and insulting movie. Only a moron could mess that up.

Hmmm... probably four or five times. Last time was probably two years ago, though. Obviously, it's not one of my favorites... unlike T2, which I adore.

No offense but i think you need to watch it a couple more times!!!! Your definately missing some good points about the movie. When i watched it as a kid i just used to love it for the action, etc. But now that i watch it as a 24 year old i see all new things that i never noticed that just make me love T1 more. We must think along different view paths anyway as i prefer T1 to T2, though T2 is indeed an amazing movie!!!

Also, back on topic, i didnt like the first AvP at all, i thought it was the worst of both series. I remember watching it back to back with Aliens and it was just embarrasing the difference in quality. I'm not holding out much hope for this one either to be honest.

We have lead actors!

From Cinescape Online:

20th Century Fox has cast Steven Pasquale of "Rescue Me" and Reiko Aylesworth of "24" to star in ALIEN VS. PREDATOR 2.

Greg and Colin Strause are directing from a script by Shane Salerno. Davis Entertainment's John Davis and Robbie Brenner will produce.

Filming begins next week in Vancouver.

Not familiar with them, but I've become a fan of Sanaa Lathan since "discovering" her in the first AVP, so I hope these guys follow suit.

Don't worry, if it doesn't work out they'll always have those guest spots on Nip/tuck, Rescue Me, The Shield and pretty much any other FX series with actors FOX reuse. :cwink:

The best thing I've heard about the movie so far is the fact that it will be more of a horror movie and less of an action one, but the fact that it may still be set in the present and not the future kind of sucks

The Pred fighting along side the hot black chick was really just a badly executed version of what happened in the Aliens vs. Predator: Prey Novel......exept that chick was white lol. It was a cool concept in the book but when I was watching the film I just kept hoping the pred would gut her already.....:(

The chick in the novel/comic was actually Asian.

And the film version was about 100 TIMES BETTER. Why? Simple - Because Lex didn't become a "predator in training" who lived with the Predators on their ship and wore their combat gear to hunt aliens for fun for the rest of her life. That was the STUPIDEST THING I'VE EVER READ. :whatever:

You see my friend... thats why I ONLY OWN PREY..... and after one look at the other books I decided it was for the best

In an interview over at iesb.net, Fox chairman Tom Rothman is promising that AVP2 will be a "hardcore" R-rated film. I never was bothered by the rating on the first AVP, aside from the fact that I felt that any film with aliens busting out of people's chests should get an R no matter how discreetly you shoot it. But for those who cared, they'll be happy to hear this.

Yes, you'll be getting far fewer monsters, but on the upside, the people caught in the middle will apparently be dying in a bloody fashion. :p

three things

Stan Winston

Rated R

New Director

You're getting two of those.

But filming has already begun and Winston isn't involved, so you lose there. :p

Has anyone seen the trailer for Halo Wars? It looks so much like AvP 1...the snow, the Covenant becoming visible...it's...disappointing to say the least.

you and me both!!!!!!!.

i was watching it and when the alien picked up that guy they totally ripped off the coolest scene in avp where there looking at each other!!:cmad:

I am more concerned with the quality of the film, considering the first AVP was one of the worst movies of last year. Nothing that lunkhead Rothman has to say means **** to me. Thanks to him, 20CF is one laughing stock of a studio.

honestly...i dont know ONE person that didnt love AVP...

i only hear all the hate online for some reaosn

For some reason? Maybe because it was poorly written, generic action movie crap. And that's all I've heard is how much people hate the movie. The only people I know that like it are people online that seem to like a bunch of stuff I wouldn't like either. AVP wasn't aimed at the fans; it was aimed at the summer popcorn movie crowds that don't care for quality. Even one of my friends who seems to like everything hated the movie, and that's quite telling!

In your opinion. I disagree with basically everything in that post. Hell, I've been a big Alien fan for ages, and I liked the Predator movies too... the AVP film made me nervous up until I saw it, and my world was rocked by it.
