Alien vs. Predator 2 Scheduled for 2007

For some reason? Maybe because it was poorly written, generic action movie crap. And that's all I've heard is how much people hate the movie. The only people I know that like it are people online that seem to like a bunch of stuff I wouldn't like either. AVP wasn't aimed at the fans; it was aimed at the summer popcorn movie crowds that don't care for quality. Even one of my friends who seems to like everything hated the movie, and that's quite telling!
Totally agreed. I don't know a single person that liked AVP. Utter garbage.

i was watching it and when the alien picked up that guy they totally ripped off the coolest scene in avp where there looking at each other!!:cmad:

Hey, as long as the game itself is good, I won't give a crap what they ripped off.

You're talking on the same board as him. *Points to self*

I'm not ashamed to admit it, but wish to also say it holds up absolutely NO CANDLE whatsoever to the first two alien movies and Predator. But I still enjoy it and am a proud Anderson fan. *Pokes out tongue*

Hell yeah, Anderson fans represent. I mean, Soldier was kinda lame, but otherwise I don't think he's made a bad movie.

I'm speaking in terms of actually knowing people. Lake as in, actually speaking to them in the flesh.

ive always HATED the halo story.......

i only have it because the game is a bit fun......

and yes... it does matter if they ripped off something as iconic as alien and predator:o :cmad:

Hey. There's not originality in anything anymore. Everything has been done to death. There's only original ways to tackle unoriginal situations. I'm a huge fan of the Alien and Predator franchise (okay, not the Predator franchise, but still a fan), but don't see what the fuss is about. And it's not even ripping off Alien and Predator. It's ripping off Aliev V Predator...I thought you hated that? Who would care if it ripped off a movie no-one cared about?

You're getting two of those.

But filming has already begun and Winston isn't involved, so you lose there. :p

That is a MAJOR LET DOWN.

now more sh_tty looking aliens
and even sh_ttyer looking predators.

Count Me Out!

I think ADI makes the best Aliens. The way the aliens moved and looked in Alien 3, AR and AVP... that's definitive for me. The aliens in the first two movies (which I love, don't get me wrong) come off too much like what they are - men in suits. Hell, the alien in the first movie barely even seems capable of movement sometimes.

Shareeka Epps ("Half Nelson"), John Ortiz ("Miami Vice") and Johnny Lewis (TV's "The OC") have been cast in 20th Century Fox's "Alien vs. Predator: Survival of the Fittest" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Epps will play Kendra, a young girl who must protect her little brother. Ortiz will play a recently elected sheriff, and Lewis plays a troubled kid named Ricky. They join a cast that includes Reiko Aylesworth and Steven Pasquale.

Eh, okay. Not anybody I'm familiar with.

Seems like a vehicle for unknowns.

Don't care about this movie, it's just to show of new "talent". It's an ad for talent agents.

People always beg to see more "unknowns" in movies. This is the first time I've seen someone COMPLAIN that a movie doesn't feature a name star. :oldrazz:

Well, I'm not complaining perse, I think it's great for unknowns to be in big movies, just...not main characters, and not in something this big, where they can mess it up. If you're in The O.C., doesn't exactly mean you're the greatest of actors...everything's a vehicle for unknowns...I guess I'm just to tired and cranky to care if they are unknowns or not. As long as the movie looks cool, I guess.

If only I could complain about the lack of Signourney Weaver...gah! She NEEDS to be in these movies...even if they aren't in the ame timeframe as the originals.

I watch The O.C. but don't know who they're talking about :huh::huh::huh:

A check over at the IMDB reveals that he plays someone named Dennis 'Chili' Childress.

Well OC guy isn't the lead. The leads are that dude from Rescue Me and that chick from 24, mentioned further up in the thread.

Besides, the first movie was filled with largely unknowns, and few people would claim that Sanaa Lathan is a bad actress. Maybe some Anderson-hata's would try to, though.

Doesn't ring a bell, then again, I dropped out half-way through the thir dseason, I kept missing it a lot due to sleep, or homework, or dinner, or anything else...I'll be getting it on DVD though.

Has anyone else noted the fact that they seem to be focusing too much on the humans...again. That's one of the things that pissed me off about the first film. Too much forced human drama and not enough wierd monster things beating the piss out of each other. AvP wasn't THE worst movie ever, just felt like it with the amount of time we had to wait for it.

PS. Anderson pretty well sucks. Resident Evil sucked, enjoyed the first MK movie, but the second was terrible, didn't like Soldier all too much. So yeah, not a huge fan of his work and I scream whenever I see his name attached to something.

Well I guess I have no right to complain, as you are correct in saying she was an unknown until that movie, and she was actually good in it. I feel like watching AvP now...ooh.

But yeah, I dunno. Until I see film, I'll probably dread it...let's see how good people can be scared.

He's not directly attached to this, he dropped out of the second MK movie...I haven't seen Res. Evil...but I like him...I dunno why.

I'm starting to realize that a lot of people just don't "get" AVP. Because I hear complaints like this a lot. Of course it's going to focus on the humans - if it was just random monster fights, why would we CARE? But more importantly, they couldn't have any more monsters due to the low budget. As I've mentioned repeatedly, the movie originally had five predators fighting the aliens, but two of the Predators and all of their action sequences were cut before filming began, leaving us with 3 predators fighting roughly 15 or so Aliens.

This movie's budget is even lower, of course, and the story focuses on ONE Predator fighting THREE aliens, so you'd better believe we're gonna focus on humans again. Still, as long as I like the humans, that's fine. But I get the feeling it'll be a cold day in hell before we see another Alien or AVP film after this. Maybe a Predator movie, since those are probably cheaper, what with only needing ONE monster.

PS. Anderson pretty well sucks. Resident Evil sucked, enjoyed the first MK movie, but the second was terrible, didn't like Soldier all too much. So yeah, not a huge fan of his work and I scream whenever I see his name attached to something.

He has nothing to do with the Mortal Kombat sequel. He read the script and walked 'cause it sucked. He also made Event Horizon, which was freaky as hell.

I'm lookin at the cast names/writer/Directors, and I see nobodies, newbies, B actors, and marginal directors. The subtitle alone discomforts me: "Survival of the Fittest" wha? you come up with that on your own there? I can see it now, They're gonna take the collective cheesiness of the first film and multiply it by 1000. I want a professional doing this film, and respecting the material. But more importantly, I want something better than AVP. Don't even name it "Versus" because that's now synonymous with "Bad Movie."
