Alien vs. Predator 2 Scheduled for 2007

Eh, I'm sure the home planets would be way too expensive for the budget they're working with right now. It's a miracle how good AVP looked considering they only budgeted it at $60 million. Ah, the magic of converting your american budget to Prague dollars. You could probably make a movie like "The Punisher" in Prague for a buck-fitty.

It made a profit once you included overseas dollars. It was made for $78 million US, so it actually had a bigger budget than AVP to play with.

Both movies are entertaining...but silly too...but Mina kicked ass in LXG...the comics are better though.

I've read a number of them... but really there are very few Alien, Predator OR AVP comics that I've actually found good or satisfying.

The first series of comics had a woman teaming up with the Predators to eliminate the Aliens that were infecting her colony. Frankly, this is an idea that the movie handled a lot better, because in the movie Lex is just trying to figure out a way to survive, and she knows without a Predator at her back, her ass is grass. In the comics, however, this woman actually ends up JOINING THE PREDATORS at the end of the first series, then dresses up in Predator netting and a mask to become a human predator! She lives on their ship and hunts with them and everything! Jesus. Jeeeeeez-US. This actually continued into the next two AVP comic series, showing her adventures with her Predator buddies as they hunt aliens around the galaxy. Oh my god, this is the dumbest thing ever. I remember the first time I saw AVP, I was really afraid that Lex would get on the ship at the end... thank god they didn't go there. Thank god.

From what we know of the script, she's not going to be returning anyway (and neither is anyone else from the earlier films), so it won't be an issue.

Fair enough. As long as the sequel is fun and a great enjoyable movie, I'm in. I already know it won't match the greatness of the first two Alien movies or predator...just as long as its fun

I hope you're willing to settle for "Aliens vs. Predator vs. A Few Cops vs. Possibly Some National Guardsmen"

I'd worry that Aliens vs. Predator vs. Marines would basically be "Aliens with some Predators." I do appreciate that they're trying to go in different directions than what we've seen before... though I can't say that the current direction sounds all that hot to me, but who knows...

Heh... funny. I'm currently watching Aliens and imagine Preds running in the background.


You don't even have to give us Marines Fox. Just set in the future and on a distant Planet. And don't overdo it with the human element. I don't have to know their lifes story in order to feel sorry for their asses.

I think you missed my point. The two PC games and the Dark Horse comics used the title "Aliens vs Predator". Paul "I call myself an Alien fan" Anderson changed it for some unknown bonehead reason for the movie.

As far as I'm concerned, it's always been Dark Horse that made the error.

The franchise isn't called the "ALIENS" franchise. It's the ALIEN franchise. The only movie with plural "ALIENS" in the title is the second one.

Yet Dark Horse called it "Aliens vs. Predator" because ALIENS was the most recent movie at the time, and they wanted to emphasize the PLURALITY of the aliens. The video games followed suit, but really, that's just stupid.

It should've always been ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, because that's the name of the two franchise and the two monsters involved.

When the movie was announced, there were conflicting reports over the name. ALIENS VS. PREDATOR or ALIEN VS. PREDATOR? I prayed for the latter, and my prayers were answered.

I hope the design of the Predator will change for the 2nd Movie. I don't like that heavy armored, kinda super uber warrior Predator like in the first Movie.

I'd like some kind of seasoned veteran look with less armor. And hopefully they work on the Preds look a bit. The AvP Preds were really disappointing compared with the 1987's version.

As much as I liked all of the creatures and was impressed by how expressive they managed to make the Predator's face, making his eye pupils larger may have been a mistake. That's one thing where I'd go back to the old school.
