Alien vs. Predator 2 Scheduled for 2007

As much as I liked all of the creatures and was impressed by how expressive they managed to make the Predator's face, making his eye pupils larger may have been a mistake. That's one thing where I'd go back to the old school.

You know what really bugged the hell out of me about the AvP Pred? Beside the way down sized and extra added teeth, the big eyes and the fact that it looked like latex.... the skin on his mouth, how it's always bulging out. That annoyed me the most.

Whatever they do, they better get for AvP 2 they guy on board who did the first Pred. Either that or don't let the Pred take his mask off at all.

Predator 2 was art compared to avp... ugh. The only way were gonna get quality again is when in hindsight they split the franchises apart and get good directors again. Avp was a cool idea... but its being handled like some b rate horror film... not even 1 interesting character

And Alien 3... Fincher isnt that bad imo...I think its more apparent after the movies of recent. Aliens of course is supreme though.

While I do love Stan Winston's Predators... I never liked his Aliens. I strongly prefer ADI's work in that arena. And since I doubt we can have two different creature effects teams, I imagine we'll have to take one or the other.

I'd rather take ADI's amazing aliens and slightly inferior Predators to Stan Winston's kick-ass Predators and inferior Aliens, but that's just because I prefer Aliens to Predators.l

Ok ill admit 1 thing good about avp... the action (vfx and sfx)... Andersons most brilliant idea was the ultra large claws they use. Thats about it imo. Its one giant sfx reel.

I wonder how AvP would've turned out if Anderson didn't have budget restrains and FOX didn't force him to make it PG-13. 2 additional Preds running around and slaughtering Aliens would've probably added a lot of fun moments.

I think AVP had a lot of great ideas. Using the historic question of "Why did totally unconnected cultures build similar pyramids?" as a basis for the Predators having history with humans was a fantastic move. It adds so much story potential to the Predators. Setting it in Antarctica? Also great, because it means that although we have aliens and predators on earth, the major issue from the Alien franchise of aliens needing to be contained from overrunning the planet is still in full effect due to the isolation. Letting the queen really cut loose and kick ass in the final reel? Great. Giving us an alien we can identify through the grid-scarring on his head? Great. Seeing a Predator elder and a huge sea of Predators decloak at the end? Great. Man, I could go on all day.

Ok theres the temple idea... from my pov, they saw a cool idea and made a script quickly, without actually making a true movie. It might as well have been all action because the few scenes in between were painful imo.

Both of these franchises need to stay away from horror directors who have a bizarro definition of quality heh. Stephen Hopkins had the same writers from Predator... perhaps all that was needed there was a final guide with good instinct (McTiernan). Anybody know why he didnt helm P2? Somebody shouldve seen the poor choreography or dialogue problems.

Neither is really accurate. He never claimed the studio screwed him. He made a movie that he always said he expected to be R, because how can you have aliens ripping through someone's chest and have it come out PG-13? :lol It's a question I still ask.

And as I've said before... today, Aliens would PG-13. AVP actually has more violence in comparison.

I'm currently in a AvP craze again. Started to play AvP2 and bought AvP: Extinction for the PS2 on ebay. I'm also rewatching the Predator and Alien Movies, well only Aliens actually. Alien is too boring and I'm not in the mood to watch Alien 3 and let's not even talk about Resurrection.

I loved all the alien games...I completed everyone I could play (aliens in arcade, alien vs predator by capcom...by god that is one they NEED to realease, that rocked.....alien 3 the gun.......alien 3 for supernes......
alien trilogy, alien resurrection, avp extinction). I loved extinction but we
NEED a new alien fps.

I was so upset they cancelled Colonial Marines apparently it was gonna take you to the alien homeworld...

has anyone read the new-ish novel aliens original sin? I have it on order but I cant find anyone else who has read it, id love to know if its any good...

I read the first chapter when they put it online for free... it was a great chapter, I'll say that much. Really captured the personalities of Johner and Vriess wonderfully, but other than that I can't really speak for it. I look forward to getting that book myself.
