When is the movie supposed to come out again?

December 21st is the tentative release date....mebbe sooner.

well principal photography wrapped a couple of weeks ago..that gives them 6 month post....weird considering how short the filming schedule was.

Predator looks great from what i can tell...

....the alien, not so much. hopefully it's just a stunt suit...

Well, as they said on AVP the alien is very hard to film, cause it looks like rubber. So I don't think it'll look like that on film, the right light/dark will do it justice... I hope!!

You know, I agree with Harry Knowles on his opinion that Alien vs. Predator is the first (and so far only), Paul Anderson movie that doesn't suck big floppy donkey dick. That said, it's not that good either. It's an okay popcorn movie that just simply puts the Alien and Predator franchises together for a few fights.

My main problem with it is that Alien vs. Predator was just too dumbed down. 1 R-rated franchise + 1 R-rated franchise does not = a PG-13 movie. Alien vs. Predator felt more like a cash in to lure the fans of both franchises along with getting kids to go see the movies with mommy and daddy.

Wikipedia's entry of Paul Anderson describes his situation perfectly. "The fact Alien vs. Predator was being made at all was enough to get many fans of the originals onboard from the second the project was greenlighted. Some, however, were unhappy with the choice of Anderson as the writer and director, and had the opposite reaction, writing it off as a failure before it had even entered production." If you take a look at the special features of Alien vs. Predator and actually listen to Paul Anderson (ignoring that all of his other movies suck and that he ruined Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil) and what he has to say, you'd see things a completely different light. The man is truely a fan of the Alien and Predator franchises and it was not his fault that it got dumbed down. He presented ideas that sounded really cool on paper, but 20th Century Fox got in the way.

20th Century Fox only cares about making a quick buck off of the consumer (just take a look at the theatrical cut of Daredevil, Elektra, Fantastic Four, Alien 3, Alien Resurection, and X-Men: The Last Stand). They don't give a damn about the state of their franchises like Warner Bros, Disney, and Universal do. They are the ones to blame over Alien vs. Predator's lack of quality, not Anderson.

I do have more faith in this movie though. Alien vs. Predator: Survival of the Fittest is getting the R rating that the movie needs and deserves. The Predator looks much better in this one than it did in the first one. We get to see the PredAlien in action. And hopefully if this one does well enough, maybe we'll finally see Alien 5 and Predator 3 come to life.

It's not about the rubbery look. The head just plain sucks.

When I saw this image, I kinda flipped out because for a second I thought it was a Protoss from Starcraft. My heart sank when I found out it was AVP2.:csad:

Your giving the person who wrote and directed AvP a free ride?

He set the story in Antartica.

He made the predators look like clumsy WWE wrestlers.

He put in the slow mo shot of some chick running side by side with a predator.

He's the one who created the uninspired dialogue.

He's the one who had one alien take out two predators in the first 30 seconds of battle. Is it really that easy?

He's the one who made the Predator's faces look stupid and fake.

He's the one who approved the mind-numbingly stupid pred-alien ending.

Paul WS Anderson a fan of Predator and Alien? Yeah and I guess next you'll be telling me Joel Schumacher is a huge Batman fan. :whatever:

Anderson is a soulless hack and his AvP was an insult. If James Cameron wrote/directed the movie would've been awesome with or without Fox.

thank god that predator again looks like he did in predator 1 and 2. i didnt like the hulk monsters in AvP.i just hope that predator moves like an animal not like a human(AvP)

the worst thing you can do is to make a human and a predator friends. or something like that.

you just dont do this.

I hope this movie is so awesome that it gives Aliens and Predator new stand alone sequels for their franchises.

I really hope so. From that one shot it already looks like a mix between Predator I and Aliens.

yep.... this movie looks like crap... is going to be crap.... stop making this crap... bring back Ridley and Cameron and make a Alien 5.....

I liked the setting. If you had to do AVP on earth, it would be the best place to do it. The novel made this work, movie didn't. :csad:

Anderson can direct, but can't write. He can come up with ideas though...but still can't write.

AVP shouldn't have been set on Earth in the first place.
It takes place during present day right? The Alien films take place YEARS from now. If we had knowledge of the Aliens today, we would have been prepared for them.
It changes the past, which it shouldn't have done.
