I thought the action was just the right amount. Maybe a little too much bs in the beginning but once it started up it didn't stop.

I thought the action was probably the one of the least things wrong with the movie, but there werent too many memorable Scenes besides the way that guy's girlfriend got killed.

That was awesome. I'm so sick of the formulaic boy & girl fall in love and survive bullsh-t in every horror or action film.

And the stupid stoners in every horror film...cliche and played out. The only thing this film arose from the dialogue, plot, script, etc...grave was the amount of people that died. They showed how brutal the aliens were and no BS Predator helping humans in this one either. I love how Wolf used one as bait for the alien.

The pred-alien had traits of a face hugger too, which is why it didn't need to lay eggs.
Maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with the traits of the Predator that the alien took on. Maybe the predators are androgenous..in other words, for some reason (cloning or just some weird life-cycle), there is only one sex. We have never seen a female Pred, have we? Just throwing that out there as a possibility that might explain it.

1) Recognize it as a young Queen, which retcons Alien 3 and makes Resurrection's statements awkward.

2) Consider the Predalien to be a genetic freak, not unlike what Mother Nature produces on Earth every now and then.

Choice 1 can be solid with some reasoning, but choice 2 is easier to say.

I don't see that as a valid explanation. Human beings have a reproductive system that's based on ejaculation out of a phallus and the birth canal, but the only time we've ever seen either assimilated by the Aliens is in Resurrection. Even then, it's because the Queen had mixed genes that added a new life cycle. They've always relied on adaptation of their host organism's traits. The Predalien is more of a mutation all around, which isn't the same thing (even though the mutation in question is one that makes its reproductive method far more efficient than that of an adult Queen).

Plus, as a viewer, I never want to find out how Predators do the McNasty.

[BLACKOUT]Greg Strause mentioned that it's actual embryos, though I feel that your idea is a lot more solid. I mean, in the first Alien they deleted a scene where it morphed humans into eggs with a secretion. Colin's statement leaves you hanging as to how an embryo would somehow make its way through her stomach and down to her uterus to gestate.[/BLACKOUT]

I think the scene with the woman giving "birth" to baby xenomorphs was lifted out of Aliens Labyrinth, which is an excellent tale. Has anyone read this story? It's quite chilling. There's also a novelization of it, too. Below is the graphic novel cover.

In that story, there's a flashback where the Aliens have lost the Queen and are trying to continue the hive by finding new ways to reproduce. One of the ways is what's been mentioned: having a facehugger impregnate a woman through the "other" orifice. The woman dies, and the hybrid babies prove to be failures.

It's quite a disturbing book. It has egg-morphing and Aliens attempting to force humans to mate.
