How come?

The obvious reason that the public does not know about the Aliens by the time of the Alien movies for one. Plus, in every single Alien film - including AVP - we were ALWAYS told that if the aliens ever got to civilization, it would be the end of Earth. Well... apparently it's not gonna be the end of Earth, apparently things turned out just fine and nobody ever even knew it happened! :whatever: Which makes Ripley (and Lex, I suppose) seem like a lunatic alarmist.

It just wreaks havoc on the continuity and themes of the Alien franchise. They might be able to write around the continuity, but there's no fixing the fact that the aliens obviously AREN'T going to breed to the point of complete human genocide.

what if it ends up actually killing all the humans in the end?..with only a select few alive?:woot:

whats the predator without a jungle though?

no I mean Alien vs Predator fighting each other.

If they're gonna do a versus film, it should be on a different planet.

I was highly skeptical of the concept in the first AVP... but very grateful that they kept the Aliens and Predators far away from populated areas so that "containment" of the alien threat could still be a central theme.

Putting them in a populated town in the middle of America makes me quite wary, though.

Completely agree.

Completely agree.

try doing that with the budget they have

take into consideration how much it would cost to do that...
sure they might be able to pull it off on their budget but that would probably also dull down some action scenes

Well, at least the movie seems to be heading towards being ''good''.

We know that Fox has given them (directors) money to shoot more scenes.

We know Fox likes the movie and will release it R into theaters.

Now, is the script any good? Maybe, maybe not. The story for AVP was good, just not a good script. The book made it work great, though.
Aslong as it's better than the crapfests known as Predator 2, Alien 3 & Alien Ressurection (which all 3 I refuse to watch like the Jaws sequels) it'd be a great movie.

Yeah, I never liked how AVP was on Earth.

I think that would make humanity notice that these aliens exist, and would still be a continuity problem. :oldrazz:

I have to say I really liked predator 2 alot and thought it was a great sequel. I dunno how any Predator fans couldn't like it.

Also I always liked Alien3 and after going through its special features on the quadrilogy set you get a whole new leve lof respect for the film.

Heh... well, I guess you get respect for the fact that it's even slightly coherent considering that Fox did absolutely everything wrong...

Your DAMN right Danny Glover! In fact Danny Glover and a coked out Gary Busey!

While I always thought it was a good movie it was really interesting to see all the features on the quadrilogy. It's certainly one of the most interesting storys of from idea to screen thats come out of hollywood.

The best part is watching Fincher freak out on a producer as to why something couldn't be filmed lmao.

Oh and I keep forgetting to mention....I havent seen Alien 4 since it came out and while I do think it is the weakest of the bunch, it had some good moments/ideas.
The creepy scientist played by (**** blanked on the name...did Chuckys voice...) was pretty nice and the aliens swimming scene was probably the best part of the whole flick.

Less Human interferance , more action scenes between Alien and Predator. Location on another planet.

LOL!!!!!!!!!

Everybody loves Bill Paxton man. :) Well, they did, until he got all well-known and showed up in like, Twister and crap. But he was awesome as a character actor, we all remember Hudson fondly.

It sure would make AVP make much more sense.

AVP fits into continuity pretty nicely. We always knew the Company had somehow heard about these aliens before sending the Nostromo out there... now we know how. Because of Lex. :)

The only problem is that Bishop already has a human creator in A3, but that can be easily rectified by saying it's a descendant or something. Lucky for us this is fairly plausible because Lance Henriksen today looks shockingly different from his appearance 10 years ago.

Sadly, there's still debate over whether Bishop II in Alien 3 was even human, let alone if the human descendant/ clone explanations work. And yes, I'm aware he bleeds red in that movie. People still say otherwise. :csad:

The script says he's human. The novel adaption says he's human. The comic adaption says he's human. He bleeds red blood. I don't see how there's much room for debate, but I guess we can partly blame Henriksen for saying "Um, I think he was a robot" a couple of years ago. Damn you, Lance!

I Don't Care About That Stuff! I Just Wanna Know When We're Getting A Trailer 4 This Movie!!!!

Apparently, what they've filmed was so horribly atrocious, they couldn't even cut together a decent 2 minute trailer from it so they've decided to shoot a few extra minutes of stuff to make the trailer appear cool just to lure unalarmed fanboys into the theaters.
