Supergirl All About The Ratings!!!!!!

Well, moving to Vancouver, may not have anything to do with moving it to the CW, only CBS filming the series there for tax incentives, as well as it being closer to the Flarrowverse to do crossovers which would help both CBS and the CW and the WB....it would be a win/win for everyone.

Also, I find it very telling that Variety has not picked up this story....as far as the CW move anyway. Not sure that SHH has even reported it.

I wonder if Berlanti signed contracts for crossover between Supergirl and Flash only or did it extend to Arrow and Legends.

If they film Supergirl in Vancouver for the tax incentives, then so be it but I can also see them trying to film there involving the DEO/ Cadmus stuff as well.

Oh definitely, and again, I would like to repeat that Variety, and TVLine have not reported this CW stuff....just throwing that out there to remind people.

I understand Criminal Minds got renewed. Hope CBS and WBTV work out a new deal for Supergirl.

I don't know. Supergirl would be a different show if it moved to Vancouver. She would probably have to move to Metropolis or Smallville or something. Plus, I doubt Calista Flockhart would be back. Probably some of the other cast members too. Yes, there would be more Flarrowverse team ups, but there is a bad side too.

I'm not sure what the contracts for these actors state or how many seasons, I heard once that most sign a 5 season contract, but if it stays with CBS, they have to honor those contracts where ever it is filmed.....if it goes to the CW, I would assume the contracts have to be redrawn...but that sort of stuff is totally out of my league of knowledge so who knows.

I dunno... Seems like the location of production (LA in this case) might very well be specified in a contract. And if that changes then the actor has a legal avenue to opt out.

I have a really hard time believing that any of the actors would walk away from the show just because production had to be moved to Vancouver. They all genuinely love the material and the characters, and having to 'relocate' for a job is something that 'comes with the territory'.

I think if need be they will make it work.

Of course they love their job but unless they are willing to relocate their family (for those that have kids/spouses) then it may be an issue. It is one thing to spend 3 months away from your family out of the year as opposed to majority of the year.

I think you're selling these actors short by taking the view that relocating their families is a caveat of them going to Vancouver, but whatever.

Flockhart is the one I would wonder about. She doesn't need the money, and considering Ford and her son, where she lives and the travel is probably high on the list of priorities. All the others I could see easily, "make it work".

The thing is, from what I hear they spend a good amount of time on their ranch, so who knows if she hasn't already been doing the travel thing.

But, I agree she would be the one that might would have a problem, but again....the reason she even got into this was Greg and her perseverance in making it happen, I don't see why they can't figure something out again to keep her on board.

If this even became an issue, I'm sure someone like Flockhart could be shifted into a "Special Guest Star" role and film various appearances over the season (perhaps even by filming them together), but not appear every episode. But yes, I'd bet they'll do everything possible to keep the main cast intact; I doubt they'd lose her completely.

...But a lot of this worry about actors is speculation, at this point. "Not thrilled" as Deadline's source equated it, does not equal "no deal." The real task for the network and WBTV is figuring out a production deal that will make the show continue to work financially...which seems very likely, even if it goes to the last minute...although stranger things have happened.

Yes and Yes.....

And as far as the last thing, very true, and I think they can do it....

Did not know either of those things. In that case, she would still be my biggest if, but yeah making it work seems completely reasonable.

Yeah, the story goes.....Greg was talking to her people, and they were saying no because there was a conflict, Greg kept calling, they kept saying no......but Calista did not know about the conversation going on. When she found out, she was not happy, and she made it work, conflict or not.....and we have our Cat Grant. :) BTW, that is from Calista herself, she is the one that told that little story.

What is kind of funny, and probably not so funny to them.....but the actors are in the same boat as we are. They are probably watching all of this go down eating ice cream, pizza, donuts and pot stickers......LOL, thinking the same thing we are.....COME ON CBS MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT DAMN IT. ;)

From what I understand of Calista and Greg's "working relationship", she would figuratively "move mountains" to work with him, so I honestly think this worry over actors leaving the series over a potential move to Vancouver is "much ado about nothing".

Yeah, I don't think that's happening.

The actors would've already been informed that a second season is happening, and about what's going on with negotiations as far as production location and budget are concerned.

The reason I say this, BTW, is because we already know that both Chyler and Melissa have spoken about Season 2 being a "lock", and they would also need to know if the show was potentially moving to Vancouver in order to make the necessary 'arrangements'.

Yeah it sounds like this is something she wanted to do, enjoys doing and is committed to. Which obviously makes things a lot more flexible. Which is great, because she is fantastic.

Considering how in shape they all are, I don't know about that bit. But yes to the rest. :funny:

Apparently you missed the crazy amount of pictures that Ali Adler put up on her Instagram showing just HOW MANY donuts this group could put away. MOST of the pictures are of Melissa eating....:woot:

I definitely know about the donuts. The photos are too adorable to miss. Carbo loading for the hard day shoot surely. They need the energy. :o :funny:

You bring up an interesting point related to a move to CW, the cast's contracts are with CBS and that should Supergirl move to CW there would have to be new contracts. Another reason I don't believe Supergirl would move down to CW.

I know they have talked about season 2, but the only actor that I know of that said anything about a "for sure" was Jeremy and his was just in passing to push CBS along in the decision.

If Chyler and Melissa have spoken in those terms, I would love to see the source of that...because I missed it.
