Revenge of the Fallen All the hatred towards Transformers...

What I don't understand is all the haters of the first film are all going to flock to the theaters for Revenge of the Fallen.

Bay is doing something right..

I tough the fights we're pretty clear. Batman Begins, by example, had harder fights to understand. The only scene I can't quite understand is Ratched and Ironhide Vs. Starscream (Re-watched the movie yesterday and understood the Optimus Prime VS. Bonecrusher. :woot:)

One can understand whats going with these fight scenes.
However it's like using the shakey cam technique. When the scene is so zoomed in, you don't know what is happening outside of the frame. You don't know what their legs or other arm is doing. I for one was annoyed by this. I found myself wanting to tilt my head in different directions to see whats going on outside of frame. I was all like "Woooaah effin swweet! what the hell is goin on over there? dammit, woah sweet! Was that Brawl? Argh! Woah Sweet!"
They may have done this for rendering purposes. Or just to make it seem more intense. Who knows. But I hope that the scenes have more zoomed out parts in them in the sequel.

I believe budget had something to do with it. Something that won't happen with the 200 million dollar T:RoF.

This isn't an intelligent romp into the political dimensions of a civil war torn robotic alien immigration. This is a summer popcorn movie with action, explosions, and humor. This will be better than Wolverine and some of the people that thought that movie was great are the ones tearing this movie down in the Woverine forum.

The single viewing of the 07 film is the last i give Bay money ever.

People in this thread say that directors don't intentionally piss of fans. Everything about the car lot scene felt like a kick in the balls. Bernie Mac's character and the 1 note cheapass dad was bad enough. But the the very intentional giant middle finger Bay gave me when the Camaro smacks the Bug translates to a complete disregard for the old school.

I can handle a modernization of the series, even the Camaro, but when Bay said he couldn't even finish the animated film, means he completely doesn't get the heart and soul of the Transformers.

When you see Hellboy movies, Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek, they're modernized movies with soul and a geniuine love for the material. All 'hardcore' fans want is that maybe someday someone will make a TF movie that actually liked the material...

Not it doesn't. It means he couldn't finish it. it might have bored the hell out of him. Not everything stands the test of time to everyone. Doesn't mean you don't like it or don't understand it.

Yeah, if they filmed the entire movie in that way then id be totally cool with it as I was with cloverfield. But to have the camera view like that for just those scenes is like watchin some really good porn which is censored.

From what I recall Volkswagen was not about to let their car be used in the movie. So Im pretty sure it was a giant FU to them not the fans. As Im sure Bay originally wanted him to be a beetle. If I were Bay, I would have done it too.

LOTR origins was a novel, Hellboy, a comic, StarTrek a TV show.
Transformers, a toy. I don't think you can really compare those except for Hellboy. TF's origins were botched together from the begining leaving alot of room for reinterpitation.
But I hear ya some parts were not so good, but overall I was pretty pleased with the movie.

I have no hatred for the first film. It was fun. I bought the blu ray. but this new one just seems lame. I guess It's the dark knight syndrome or that star trek and other movies coming out seem better but It seems they are cashing in on there success of the first one and just giving more action but no purpose. From what I hear the plot sucks and It'll just be a cgi feast. That was ok for the first one because we waited so long for Transformers to hit the big screen. but now it's time for story and all I see is more jokes and megan fox stuck in there for teens.

To be fair, the only person who even resembled comedic in the first one was Turturro, but that's a given.

All the other so called "funny moments" were not funny.

I liked Transformers the first time I saw it. But after that it just annoys me with it's blatant cliches, piss poor dialogue and just overall cheesiness.

Don't get me started on the Hispanic soldier with the rosemary beads or that absolutely stunning Australian genius. Terrible, just terrible.

But saying all that...I am looking forward to getting blazed and watching Revenge of the Fallen.

yeah Transformers one had alot of terrible moments but I let that slide for the sake that it was the first Transformers movie and it was just dumb fun but now it just seems lame

I think it's funny. Things that you don't find funny, others do, and the other way around. We've all got a different sense of humour. :yay:

Would you prefer an ugly Australian genius? I think not. :woot:

Actually the funniest moment would have to be when Ratchet gets a shock from the power lines and says to Ironhide "You should try it", "Yeah that looks fun"

Well yea I understand that.

And yea there is never anything wrong with gorgeous Aussies! But as a frickin genius who is more clever than anyone else in the US government?!??! Errr...no. That is just pure Michael Bayism.

Actually, that's very realistic. Of course 1 Australian is smarter then the entire U.S. government. :oldrazz:
